ok i have had an xbox 1 for a long time now but was never able to get xbox live working or xbconnect to work.
if you use ethernet on the xbox do you need to have 2 ethernet ports on ur pc? one to plug the cable modem into and the other port for the xbox or can you dissconnect the ethernet running from ur modem to the pc and replace it with an ethernet running from the modem to the xbox but with no ethernet connecting running into the pc?
any help on getting this fix would be a great help as i want to be able to use xbox live on the 360
thanks in advance
ps i have looked around other sites but most of them say you need to use a hub and winroutewhich scares me a lil lol

You need to by a hub, switch, or router. They can be as cheap as $20 or so. But that's the equipment you need to share internet between different devices.
Here's how it works:
Plug cable modem into hub/switch/router's input port, then plug computer and Xbox into the ethernet output ports.

Well ...if you plan on using your computer on the same modem, get a router that is Xbox Live compatable if you want to play on Live.
It doesn't really matter that the router is Xbox Live compatable if you want to use XboxConnect or XLink... since they basically make the internet a big fat LAN.
Also .....remember that if your router's hardware firewall is on, that it can be a pain in the rear to even get on Xbox Live at all. Some may work, others may need you to open up specific ports in the firewall and some will require you reduce the firewall to the lowest setting or no firewall at all. Remember, this pertains to Xbox Live and not so much XboxConnect or Xlink which are both much more flexible.
If there's another place to hook a modem up, you can always get a second one for the Xbox.
Hope it helps.

[DE-LIVED] PlayStation Network to pass 8 million downloads
According to Sony, the PlayStation Network is getting ready to surpass the eight million paid downloads mark. It's also been reported that North America now has three million PlayStation Network users.
Jack Tretton, Chief of Sony US, had this to say about it, "Coming off a great holiday sales season we see strong momentum behind PS3 in 2008, and feel confident about the year ahead... we have Blu-ray emerging as the de facto high def standard, the developer community is hitting their stride, consumers are recognising the tremendous value and innovative services such as PlayStation Home are all in the works, so this is definitely shaping up to be a breakthrough year for us."
Tretton also let it be known that their have been over 52 million downloads in total since the store has been open.
This is quite the achievement and we'll keep you updated as these figures increase.

Dave, please make sure you check through at least two days worth of news to avoid repeated posting; I already did this on Friday, and the quote by Tretton had previously been covered by Eric the same day.
Here is my article - you can see its exactly the same only CVG reworded things slightly. http://www.psu.com/January-PSN-download ... 755-p0.php
Obviously as a result there is no need to keep this up, so i'm taking it down as per usual for repeated stories.*Kiss My X Box Flavoured Ass*
