    Skill Level Added!

    Okay guys we’ve added a very cool new mod to the Forum. It’s called ‘Skill Level’.

    Here’s how it works;

    Basically it’s a point’s based system for giving you an idea of how useful a user is. The higher the number the more skill the user has accumulated. The basic idea behind it is to give users, and us, a better feel for how well members are contributing to the site. It should help lower spam posting by detracting away the focus from post count to the new skill level system. There are four ways to gain skill points but we’re only going to be using three of them for the time being. They are:

    Replying to posts - You get X amount of skill.

    Starting new topics – You get Y amount of skill.

    Admin Donations – These are donations we can give of any amount we like to any user we like, based on quality posts, good loyalty etc.

    Member Donations – These are disabled at the moment, but basically as a member you can donate some of your ‘skill’ to a friend or fellow forum user of your choice, but this is taken out of your own skill. We may well add this in the future so keep your eyes out.

    That’s basically it. Bottom line – the higher your skill level the higher up the ladder you are. We will be keeping our eyes out for the highest skill level people to become Moderators in the not-to-distant future.

    XBox 360 "Nothing to worry about?"
    By: Dusty Stokes
    Sony CEO Howard Stringer, said that he is not worried about Microsoft's XBox 360 in the video game market because Playstation devices outsold the 360 over Christmas.
    Stringer mentioned that he visited a store in Tokyo during the 360 launch in December and was told that a total of five people were waiting to buy the system. The same store had lines wrapping around the block when the Sony PSP came out.
    The PS3 is critical for Sony, who had a loss of $86 million over the last year, which is its first annual loss since 1995. The PS3 will have both a new Blu-Ray player and will be using the Cell Processor, both of which will boost sales for Sony.
    Kazuharu Miura, an analyst from the Daiwa Institute of Research said, 'We can expect to see a full fledged recovery by the second half of 2007, driver by the success of the PS3 and profits from the TV business."
    With the Xbox 360 selling about half as many Xbox's in Japan at launch, Sony has very little to fear about concerning the success in Japan, and only time will tell the outcome of the next gen-gaming battle of the consoles in the US.
