So that's Arsenal gone, only Man City, Man United and Chelsea left now, 2 of those I can't see going through though, Chelsea have the best chance of staying it the CL but even that's not going to be easy!

I was saying ALL the way through the first half that the 2 central midfielders where not following Shweinsteiger (probably spelt wrong) and that he was just making dangerous runs, finding himself clear of the midfield and running at a retreating back four. I mean even I could see that, Lee Dixon on the ITV punditry then outlined it on the first half analysis, and then the goal Arsenal conceded happened purely because nobody was marking Bastian through the central of that midfield.

Either Arsene completely missed it, or the midfielders where not responding to a vital order. Either way simply not good enough.

I did feel aside from that, defensively they played respectably. Ox had a brilliant game but he really needed to be pushed up, when a player is in good form and can pick a ball up and run at world class defenders and confidently take them on, you really cannot afford to be giving him the ball at, or just short of, the half way line.
He was evidentially blowing out a gasket by the time he came off, but I feel he played exceptionally well.

Fiest leg cost us. Robben is a diver generally speaking. Bayern are a world class team even their bench.

We had Gibbs, Wilshere, Ramsey and Theo all out. 4 key players yet the boys still played a good game.

People forget a worse Bayern team last year knocked Bayern out 7-0. Onto Sunday's NLD and the FA cup. We went out with a respectable performance.

I wouldn't agree that a worse Bayern side beat Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate. I think this Bayern's a little more susceptible defensively.

Aw, can you do it against Airdrie tonight?

Not sure if i'll watch it. I want to see how we do with Forbes, Grainger and Paige, but i also don't want to get too angry that i break my spacebar again :/

No doubt if i don't watch it we'll win or somthing :L

Well we lost on away goals last year. They're better imo because of their work rate and ball retention. Better than the Guardiola Barca. They have a very good balance of power and pace exactly where it's important.

Even last year I said to some friends you can get at their centre backs, Boateng is a red card waiting to happen lol. Trouble is they hold the ball so well and chase you down when you have the ball player's are off guard.

The problem with that ball retention tactic - and it happened with Barcelona sometimes - is setting the correct pace for it. The longer you do it, you can just drain the game and get lulled by it, which can make you susceptible to high-speed counters when you finally do lose the ball - which is dangerous when you haven't a lot of cover over the CBs and the likes of Boateng are playing there. Bayern of last season (in a 4-2-3-1) were defensively solid and fast/fluid in attack - a real, quick-pressing joy to watch. The two anchors in midfield covered up any defensive frailty, and for those reasons I think they were a harder team to beat. They're currently trying to mould that Pep high press, quick recovery, ball retention philosophy whilst trying to retain the power, fluidity and stability of the Juup Heynckes era. Despite their domination I don't think the transition's quite there yet, so they may get found out in the latter stages of the Champions League.

Adebayor has been completely uninfluential so far, no fault of his own but there's nothing from this spurs team bringing him into the game so far.

Here's something funny: Aguero completed one pass against Barcelona last night, and that was the kick-off.

Why did Scully have to get injured. I don't mind Goodfellow, he deserves his chance and all that seeing as he's one of our youth players but i'm not convinced he'll ever be our number 1 and tbh i'm not sure if i'd have him as the backup keeper either. Dunno what he was doing for the freekick, was nowhere near it.

Thought we were in the game until that goal went in, but same as usual there's just nothing up top. No suprise seeing as i think the midfielders have scored more that the strikers?

Stranraer are imploding, 3 defeats in a row now?

Seriously, we should just get rid of refs. They do nothing but get decisions wrong, overpowered by players and made to look like fools.

Pretty much every game they lose authority over the players

Absoloute shambles today. .so many injuries for us vut no excuses Wenger just can't get them up for big games. Refs are stupid. You have officials to help and they still send the wrong player off.

It's always around a 3-2! Still see Real nicking it. Such a typical Clasico.

This has been one of the better Clasico's i can remember. The Mourinho ones always seemed to involve the Real team kicking Barca off the park which never worked...

Pepe and Ramos might actually finish the match O_o

    Spoke too soon

That's a horrible decision. You see that sort of foul all the time and imo its not. Its like the commentator says, there's no space there and its the same when a player runs into the opposition player who has stood his ground.

Refs lost it too. Card happy

First half: best clasico in ages, ref letting them play, wide open back and forth game.
Second half: typical clasico bull$#@! that makes it the most overrated fixture in world football.
