Wow this made me laugh my head off!
Completely agree though, first half was just the perfect example of what that fixture should represent and it's capabilities, how easily it entertains.
The second half was just a perfect example of what the Classico has actually become in recent times.

Need a big big referee for games like these, he seemed a little too timid in the respect he was bullied by players all too often and pressured into giving needless cards.
It got to the point he was just brandishing them to avoid being shouted at.
What referees fail to realise is that despite all the superstars and premadonnas around them, a football match is THEIR game, they have COMPLETE control and what they say, goes.

Moyes out, hah!! No manager in the world could have beaten City with that team.

Another game where it was Rooney on his own trying to do everything, the rest of the squad just isn't up to it. De Gea is another one that's stood out, he's had to pull of some brilliant saves to keep united in some games this season. Mata should have buried that chance in the first half to make it 1-1, get a bit of belief in the team.

Moyes has 6 years to get rid of Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic ect and to build his own team to suit his formation. After then we'll see if its worked or not. But if your wanting your team to challenge for the title and be in the CL i'd suggest you support City or Chelsea...

Two 20 goal scorers. Not bad. And not a single penalty between them.

It was a disappointing watch in truth. After a goal 40 seconds in there was nothing but 7/8-0 on the cards.
City's passing and movement on and off the ball was absolute first class. I don't know what happened but 10 minutes in United seemed to compose themselves and kept the ball well and defended adequately.
However the game for me was won in the second half, after mata squandered the first half opportunity you thought if they nicked one and played the remainder of the game how the had been from the 10th they could have nicked the draw.
But there was no conviction doing forward, that was one of very few opportunities and it was a glorious one at that.

Some season in La Liga, Just when it looked like Real were in pole position to win the league, defeats to Barca and more importantly Seville has pushed them to 3rd. Now 3 points back from Athletico who are ahead on the head to head so even if they get onto level points they will still be behind.

Barca could also steal the title from Athletico on the final day when the two meet if it stays like this and Barca win. And if results go the right way and they draw and Real win, then the titles going to the Burnabeu

It is a fantastic La Liga season! Just wish more leagues where like the Premier league though, an abundance of talent AND the unpredictability of who will clinch the title, or who will beat who.

It's usually quite straightforward in La Liga, it's good this season though. Barca must seriously be rueing that slip up against Valladolid earlier in the season now! My money would have been on Real a week or so ago, their squad is exceptional. No idea now though!

I think the way results have gone in the last week or 2 will have mended the damage from that loss, they are right back in it.

IMO, Athletico have got the hardest run in, playing Bilbao and Villarreal who are in the Europa League spots from what i remember, plus the Barca game. Real's hardest games against Sociedad so i'd be tempted to say them. Barca have got a fairly easy one too and i can't see them getting beat.

Not having Alonso or Ramos hurt Real against Seville but they had 2 international players come in so they didn't lose too much quality.

Real are the ones to watch for the Champions League

Barca currently top of la liga thanks to beating Espanyol, and Athletico currently only drawing with Bilbao.

    Must win for Real tonight.

    Football [Soccer] Thread

Sacking Pardew is not reasonable in my opinion. Like what does the man have to do to impress you Newcastle fans?
You have to realise you are not the club you once where, and since the relegation you have all to often been a shadow of your former selves.

Last season you finished 16th with 41 points.
This season with games to go, you lie in 9th with a points total of 46.
Which, last season; would have put you in 11th place, level on points with Swansea and West Ham. (With, in theory six games in hand)

My point is, that although you may be on a losing streak, you're sitting in the top ten, with 5 more points than you had after 6 extra games last season.
That is an improvement in my eyes, quite a big one at that.
Why should Pardew suffer for IMPROVING his team, results, league stature?

A losing streak does not call for some bodies head, and the most frustrating thing is that narrow minded people with those views are often chairmen of clubs, football management is not, as much as it may seem; a game of musical chairs.

    /rant.

Also yeah my money is on Real for CL this year. That attack is so so relentless and unforgiving.

Win a derby? Even playing well in one would be a start. Put together a decent cup run? I don't think we've made it past the 4th round of the FA Cup since he's been here.

Pardew is a very average manager with limited tactical knowledge. He makes the same useless substitutions every game (Shola Ameobi) and doesn't seem to have a plan B if things go wrong.

Managers like Pardew are dinosaurs now. He's not the man to take us forward. Not to mention he's a massive $#@!. Can't imagine too many players would want to play under him.

I would LOVE Newcastle to keep a manager for more than a couple of seasons but I don't want stability just for the sake of it.

So, Dunfermline announced this would be next seasons home kit, with the famous stripes being replaced by black hoops to commemorate the home kit from 1919-1921. Now i think this is a really nice top, so i was pretty pleased....

Dunfermline then came out and said it was a $#@!ing April fools, and it was not our new kit
