the regular PS2 (not the slim) looks exacly the same as any other regular version...only the inside of the system is different.

shows that Sony didnt finally get it right until the new slim version. i love how the slime version looks and how its built, wish they could have made it that way in the begining

its a marketing stratergy to pro long the shelf life of the PS2, but it isnt like the first PS2 sucked, you can fit a hard drive in it (in NTSC regions only) thats another thing, the Network adapter i just bought has power supply and Data transmission for hard drives, do you think you can buy your own hard drive and then put that into the ps2?

You could but it would do you no good unless you hooked up the hard drive to your comp and installed some illegal software

i think the ps2 harddrive uses its own type of data cable also thats specificly for the ps2, but im sure you could mod that aswell.

I'm just curious what you meant by finally got it right. I bought a brand new v12, for the kids and the laser blew in less than 5 days. As far as I'm concerned they are junk, but it's almost impossible to find the old style ps2 brand new. So that dosen't leave many choices.

that sux dude.. well to answer your question i mean that they got the components right and sorted that they could build a new slimmer version. That fan and heatsink that was in the back of the ps2 is what really made the design much larger. They got components that ran alot cooler so they didnt need that anymore.

To explain what happend to your new v.12 i have no real explanation other than its yet anouther defected system that shouldnt happen at all, but it does unfortunatly. Only thing i can say is call up sony to replace it. Its still under warranty.

27 playable PS3 titles at TGS!

In a press release made by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, it has been confirmed that there will be twenty seven playable PlayStation 3 titles at the Tokyo Game Show in September.

A total of thirty five titles currently in development will be on display at the PlayStation 3 booth.

The announcement comes from SCE's Japanese division on the first day of Games Convention in Leipzig. Although Sony is due to hold a press conference later today in Germany, no playable titles are expected. It appears as though the company is waiting until TGS to really get the PlayStation 3 in full swing.

Admittedly, our Japanese isn't the best. But here are some of the PS3 titles that will be playable at TGS:

    Devil May Cry 4
    Blade Storm: Hundred Years War
    Mahjong Taikai
    Coded Arms: Assault
    Fatal Inertia
    The Eye of Judgement
    Warhawk
    Gran Turismo Series
    Genji
    Formula One World Championship
    Heavenly Sword
    Everybody's Golf 5
    MotorStorm
    LAIR
    Resistance: Fall of Man
    Mobile Suit Gundam
    Ridge Racer 7
    Armored Core 4

There will also be sixteen playable PSP titles including Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Ratchet & Clank and Ace Combat X.

The PSP camera and GPS receiver will be unveiled, and a number of titles will demonstrate the latter. These being the navigation software, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (yes, we're not joking!), Planetarium and Everbody's Gold (again, we're not joking!).

TGS runs from September 22nd to 24th.

We'll keep you up to date!
