Possible increase in the max number of sig lines?

I mean, 5 lines max is a bit small. I can't even add this into my sig. Reveal boxes an' all.

"Like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theatre, it's aimed for the PS3, so the game's scenario and graphics need this theatre-type hardware," Kojima responded. "It's when a producer has a game that can work on the 'DVD level' that a game will go multiplatform."
    - Hideo Kojima on MGS4 exclusivity.[/reveal]

It would be nice if this feature or limitation could be lifted. Unless there is a valid reason of which I am unaware of.

It was brought up about a month or so ago to extend the limit of the Signature. But I'm not sure what happened there.

It is a bit small, but they just don't want people having a short story in there Sig's I guess.

the shop improvements will make it so that you can only display 15 icons in your inventory so they are trying to limit post depths so i imagine sigs will either stay the same or be restricted further

It'd be nice if the maximum number of lines in a signature is increased. For some reason even though it said I can only have 5 lines at most, the signature appear to be consisted of only 4 lines.

i'm guessing a signature line will be based on a finite number of characters

    Maybe 7 lines?

What about increasing the dimensions of the signatures as well?

The post sizes are already way too deep. However, the forum will be getting a new theme soon and we will be trying to reduce the post depth considerably. I will take this into consideration during the re-skin design process, so it's not a definite "no". We'll just have to wait and see.

there are a lot of superfluous bits in the poster section of each post. you could get rid of view psu profile link, have total points instead of points, bank points and total points, donate could be moved to the dropdown when you click the users name, join date could be in the dd/mm/yyyy format to be on one line, rep power could go next to rep pips. just a few suggestions.

use tinypic for hosting your sigs which will make your urls shortter, providing more space for text.

Are you going to cut the rounded corners of each post? They increase the size of each post in a thread.

Oh yes please, I was just about to say something about that. unlike other major forums this one takes a lot of scrolling to get one to post to another and it reduces forum posts I believe. I hope you guys can do something about it, there a lot of useless stuff you can see on the person profile that increases wide space between posts.

I still think the maximum number of lines in a signature should be increased anyway. I'm not sure how exactly a "line" is defined because I apparently currently have four lines in my signature and it seem to count as fives lines already since I can't add in a single letter at the next line without getting this error: "Your signature contains too many lines and must be shortened. You may only have up to 5 line(s)." even when the size of the signature would be less than 500 chars in length.

Well... The problems with this is you have only like 3-4 lines and it says it won't fit is because you have some useless code in there. It counts the code to, not just what text you put in.

So you put in something like "This Text is RED!". Now you highlight, change it to red with the color picker. Now your adding characters to that, ever though you don't see it. It'd be like [kolor=red]This Text is RED![kolor] So you can see you added 20 extra characters to your signature without knowning it.

What also happens is that it will add useles stuff, like a couple [center] tags when you only need one. Some text tag's and so forth.

The best way to get the most out of your Sig is to leave it one color, keep your links short if you have them and click on this button on the top right. That will show you the coding too, then you can delete useless code it may add.

    Hope that helps you all.
