Azureus Media Server

I just fired up Azureus and there were some updates. Not sure if this was present before or if anyone else has posted this, but you can now stream media within Azureus. Im on OS X and still havnt quite figured it out. It says there is a error when connecting, but the Azureus icon does show up on the ps3. Thought I would let you all know, and if anyone can help me configure it correctly it would be even better

Most likely it is on 3.0, because I do not think they still release updates on 2.5.

Its in there as a plugin in the latest "Vuze" version. Its DLNA based but I have yet to try it on the PS3. It works pretty well with any media downloaded though, like all the HD trailers and all (auto added to the library).

Thanks for the heads up, gonna test it out. I know you didn't get it working yet, but thanks to you, I know about the latest Azureus (Vuze) release

ANDY D..how are you auto adding to library?

switched to ethernet cable on PS3..a world of difference for streaming, suddenly HD was fine and i could fast forward properly. recommended!

hmm..shows up in PS3 server menu alongside eyeconnect and ps3, but nothing after that, just an error message...

so still in beta?

When i download something on Vuze (trailers, movies and whatnot) they get recognized and added to the library tab automatically.

ya im still getting that error message too. I dont know what the problem is. Throw some rep this way, and ill do the same if some one can help me out. thought I would let you all know bout Azureus, especially for the mac users out there

i dont think its a problem, it's just that is all azureus is capable of now...ithink they just checking implementation of the feature, so nothing will work unitl we get another update....great find tho ! using eyeconnect..i got this from eyeconnect today..

We just got a PS3 in our offices last week.

So, we're going to test EyeConnect with it, and make sure things work as well as possible.

That may take some time to complete, but I don't have a specific time frame to share.

Once we're done, we'll let you and other users know if there are test versions to try.

eyeconnect on mac osx costs about 30 bucks..30 day demo...streams video,pictures and itunes! nice app, you can add extra folders to stream content from. works great....over ethernet i was able to watch Hi-Def videos streamed from my g5.

it sees it but it doesnt see any music or anything and i just tried eyeconnect and i cant get it to work either

Ok, I sort of figured it out. Well at least I'm a step further.

First, you need to go into preferences >> plugins >> media server and check the box "publish media... etc" and click save. After that you need to restart azureus.

Now all the files that are in your azureus library are visible. In my case this is a folder called "downloads". There are also folders called movies, music and pictures, but those are always empty. In the downloads folder obviously only the mpeg files work for video.
You can share additional files, which are not in your library, by selecting advanced and then choose share >> file from the file menu.

I didn't get mp3's to work and I can't transcode on the fly from visualhub, but we're getting closer...

Also I get the strong feeling there has to be an easier way to get to stream media with vuze.

Mine has been working lol. It just popped up on my PS3 ever since 1.8 update night, but I haven't bothered to use it yet. I just figured since I know how to operate programs and all that I wouldn't need to find out. Still haven't bothered yet, so sorry guys

I have found that TVersity media server works flawless on the PS3 (and Xbox & Wii) and decods everything on the fly and it's free, it will do until Vuze starts working!

How, as soon as I switch away from them for uTorrent they introduce some cool new features. Still sticking with uTorrent for torrents though and tVersity for media sharing.

Also, the PS3 has to support the files streamed I guess? So I must convert all my .mkv files to .mpg (mpeg4)?
