    sorry that hapoened to you i had an 360 and after 2 months it kept freezing like yours did so i took it back to game and replaced it but i sold that one i have a ps3 no problems yet but it is sad that consoles die MS should really fix this

    i cant believe it. simply cant. i didnt think it would happen to me. i thought i was one of the lucky ones to only have suffered with 2 freezes in 1 year 5 months. how could it all change that suddenly?

    let the 360 sit for while unplug every thing and take the hard drive off.
    then after like 10 mins hook it all back up and trun it on.

    thanks for the help but i have already tried it. it wasnt an issue of overheating - i had just got out of bed and turned it on.

    do yourself a favour and dont waste your money on the 360, at least until they release it with all the problems sorted.

    that does suck. It might not be worth the pain in the ass, but enough patience and calling will get you a new machine.

    If the game store doesn't work out, I would call MS. I would start out by calmly asking a for a new machine, and refusing whatever they offer, until it's at least a free fix. I've never had to deal with MS but I've never actually had a representative from any company hang up on me.

    I've had several minutes of silence as I say "well I don't know what to tell you, your offer isn't good enough, and I'm not going away until it is...if you can't help me you should probably find somebody who can" for the 10th time, but in the end it's always who you talk to you. Eventually you find somebody who has the authority to ok it, and also doesn't want to deal with you anymore.

    I guess it's up to you if that's worth your time and effort though.

    I would say never yell, if your a nice guy it'll work out. However if your female, then for whatever reason yelling seems to be a good way to get what you want!!

    some of the best advice so far........

    pez - do what I suggested with 'game' in one area. then go to another. then another. then write a letter to the hq. then go to another 'game' and go for bud fox's female advice in the middle of the store - find a busy area and loudly state that its not good enough, and that you'll be taking your custom elsewhere (london would be a good bet - the manager couldn't be ****ed to even come out and talked to me, just gave me a new one - no shouting/being unreasonable required). Then try budfox's MS route. BUT remember, if you get a replacement from your original store not only do you get a NEW console, but you get a NEW years warranty with MS. If you get a replacement off MS it will be a refurb and you only get a 3 month warranty with MS.

    just a thought.

    The exact same thing was happening to me too. I just left it for 30 mins and it was fine. Do the same, if it still happens, try playing with the HDD off.

    Have you tried the towel trick yet? wrap it in a towel and run it for about 30 mins and maybe, just maybe it will warp whatever part of the board back into place. Sounds mad but it just might work.
