It seems that since the first day of Free Agency and the Draft is already over, I am really, really looking forward to the next hockey season. I am a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan and they have definitely made me happy with the signings of Briere, Timonen, Hartnell to long, good paying contracts, and also acquiring Joffrey Lupul and Jason Smith from Edmonton, one is experience and the other is promising. I feel that the Flyers are a real force to reckon with this upcoming season.

The Flyers better be a force to be reckoned with after their abysmal performance last season. They've made some great signings, hopefully they can give the fans something to cheer about again.
In other news, the Leafs have not acquired anyone aside from yet another 30+ year old player in Jason Blake. I really hate being a Leafs fan sometimes.

rangers again made a big splash but im not too afraid, i'll need to see something different, not just more big name players.
the flyers turned it ALL around and they will be one to be reckoned with again.
my wings...we lost a lot of bad players and are overpaying rafalski......hopefully hes worth it but i dont see us getting many more. at least our young talent will be more time

The owners don't care about winning. Why should they? They charge a small fortune for tickets (perfect example; I went to watch the Caps and Leafs in Washington and I paid $90 for fourth row seats. Those same seats in Toronto are about $500), and even though the team sucks, they still sell out almost every game. Nothing will change until the fans make it change. Once ticket sales start dropping the owners will realize that drastic changes need to be made. However, ticket sales show no signs of slowing down, so I don;t expect any changes any time in the next five years.

Ticket sales will never drop in big hockey cities, look at Boston they sell pretty dang well and the team is horrible. People live for hockey as you probably know living in Toronto, they will still sell tickets no matter how bad the team is. I am sure the fans are upset though especially this year.

With Toronto though, they did get Toskala as a goalie, and he is pretty damn good too.

Yes, he is a good goalie. However, they have done nothing to get support for him. We have one great defensemen in Kaberle. Aside from him we have the inconsistent Kubina, the waste of space (and money) Gill, the worst player on the team, Bryan McCabe, the injury prone Coliacovo, and a bunch of inexperienced young guys. I really do feel bad for Toronto goalies, except Raycroft. He just flat out sucks regardless of the defensive support he does or doesn't get.

The only thing that matters is the coyotes picked up one of the best players in the draft along with signing and a new managment. Woot! Stanley cup here we come.

Well I mean Raycroft never ddi that great in Boston, he was awesome don't get me wrong.
If every one gets bad when they go to Toronto maybe they need some new coaching!

Jk but dont be upset even if they had a better year this year they will still loose to the coyotes so dont get your hopes up.

And the coyotes will be dominated by penguins. If only the Capitals could get some more people to skate with Ovechkin

Diamo im gonna kill you
The only problem the coyotes have is trading guys once they become good lol. Hopefully with new management they dont screw that up again, unless gretzky does.
When do the coyotes play your team? I want to enjoy it alot

Well after carefully analyzing many factors, I have come to the conclusion that the Coyotes are going to dominate, lol.

I would still have to say that Flyers aren't rebuilding, they are reloading. Gagne, Knuble, Briere, Carter, Richards, Umberger, Lupul and Hartnell up front and defense there is Hatcher, Smith, Coburn, Timonen, and Gauthier and Biron in goal, it would seem that they are prepared to win.

I am still thinking Penguins, the only thing that is going to hurt them is inexperience, oh and the Coyotes obviously will go far too.
And for the flyers they need a gun before they can reload anything. Because they sure as hell weren't firing anything last season

I think the flyers will be a competing team at the least this year, i mean loosing by one goal or whatever but they wont be playoff competing. They have some gathering to do first.
