Very nice find, siren. Sounds very exciting. The PS3 hardware is still up in the air, though...since no dev kits have been sent out yet, apparently. Sounds like Microsoft has a BIG head start on this one with games already in the works. Sony better get their act together, or they will have nothing to show on the E3 floor except maybe some tech demos...or some of their own games. Who knows?

This... is my BOOMSTICK!

Thats pretty interesting, I lpersonally think the PS3 will beat out Xbbox 2 and Nintendo revolution harware wise, but in time it'll probably be Xbox then Nintendo then Sony

I doubt Sony will fall back into 3rd place. That doesn't seem right to me, due to the fact they are dominating the market right now 4:1 in terms of console sales. They are a powerhouse...

I think he’s referring to the release date. He thinks Microsoft releases first, then Nintendo, than lastly, Sony. I disagree with that though. I think Sony will release before Nintendo but after Microsoft

well nintendo is aiming for innovation, and usually that would take some time, to think of innovative ideas, and then develope them ideas... so i would also say that is Xennon, PS3 then Revolution

Hope the following makes sense, I will do my best.
My understanding is that the launches will be different per territory.
US - Xbox2 Q405, PS3 & Revolution Q406
EU - Xbox2 won't say except first, Revolution Q406, PS3 Q107
Japan - Xbox2 same as EU, PS3 Q206, Revolution Q107
Nintendo has started to make a shift. The Japanese gaming market is declining fast, and Europe/US are becoming increasingly larger than it. Both were already larger to begin with.
Also Nintendo has stated that they believe making the Christmas season in the US is more important than Japan. This was in part shown by their release of the DS for US in time for christmas, but not putting it out in Japan until after the holidays. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Q405? Q406? Q107? Q206? im sorry if this sounds stupid but i would like to know once and for all how to tell the months (if it is even with months) with Q?

-
01-26-2005 #9
Q = quarter, Q1 = 1st Quarter. Q105 means the 1st Quarter of 2005...meaning sometime in the first 3 months of the year.
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Quarters. 2005. 2006, 2007...etc. Do ya get it now?
I'm gonna have to wait and see what the official release dates will be when they are announced. I've heard ten thousand dates, and the only ones that matter are the ones that will in fact be true.US - Xbox2 Q405, PS3 & Revolution Q406
EU - Xbox2 won't say except first, Revolution Q406, PS3 Q107
Japan - Xbox2 same as EU, PS3 Q206, Revolution Q107
And just because the "Xbox 2" will most likely release during the holidays doesn't mean that Sony has to. The PS2 wasn't launched during the holidays, and neither will the PSP when it hits US shores.
This... is my BOOMSTICK!

Is it just me, or does this seem like common sense? No one will release a console after its competitor, and make it a weaker console. Of course it'll be more powerful than XBox 2.PS3 expected to be more powerful than Xbox2I am a moron. Do not argue with me because I will drag you down to my level and win with experience

Nothing is common sense until it has been proven with factual information.

01-27-2005 #12yup, get it, seems pretty simple.thanks for the explination. i feel like its hard to believe the PS3 is planned to come out in a year= quarter, Q1 = 1st Quarter. Q105 means the 1st Quarter of 2005...meaning sometime in the first 3 months of the year.
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Quarters. 2005. 2006, 2007...etc. Do ya get it now?
. i guess time is passing faster then i thought.

Yes... And History has proven this to be common sense. No one releases a product (not just consoles... I mean ay electronic product) and make it out right inferior to one that its competitor is selling... So there you go, it has been proven with factual information/evidence.

WMS: PS3 delay no big deal
The same company which predicted that the Xbox 360 may outsell the PlayStation 3 has announced that the delay of the PlayStation 3 in Europe is “isn't a big deal in the long run.” Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities feels that gamers are overreacting to the delay and that those who want to buy a PlayStation 3 will still buy it, just later than they had planned.
Although positive that that gamers who buy the Wii may buy a PlayStation 3, Pacher felt that few would buy both an Xbox 360 and a PlayStation 3 as the option would be too expensive and both consoles are too alike.
Pacher also revealed WMS's revised predictions for the growth of video game sales- 2% in 2006 and 15% in 2007 and 2008. Prior to Sony's announcement of a delayed launch in Europe, the company had predicted a growth of 3% in 2006, and 15% in 2007 and 2008.
The delay of the PlayStation 3 in PAL regions has left many gamers shocked, although Sony has focused on the positive and announced that the delay means it can focus on a successful launch in Japan and North America. Ken Kutaragi has also assured gamers that Sony is still on track to ship 6 million units by the end of 2007's fiscal year.
