Hey I am thinking about buying one now. I am sure I will use the warranty but it its free I won't mind. I am still not paying for live though. I meant the can they recover as, will the fix the problem on new consoles, or just put out the same problems with a better warranty?

When will people come to there senses?

i don't think it will recover after the price drop, and the only reason ( i think) is that some people don't call Ms and get a new console some go out andpay for a whole new xbox. maybe that is what is causing there price rocket

07-07-2007 #14We believe multiple SKUs just confuse consumers so we will just stick to one SKU....a year later... 20GB, 40GB (no BC), 60GB (US full BC, EU limited BC), 80GB, 160GB, more to come...

I still think most of the 360 crowd don't know about the issues. However, someone that matters does. Otherwise MS wouldn't have scrambled to throw out two warranty extensions within a week of each other.
They're as stubborn as anyone, so they'll survive at least as well as they did with the XBox. They may loose money, but unless the stockholders revolt, they'll keep on.Now writing: two Ratchet & Clank novels, a Sly 4 novel, and two rock albums

So MS have taken a hit by addressing the 1 issue that was holding it back (supposdly).
Lets see the flawed logic in that.
Sales were going ding a ling nicely regardless of the RROD.
They added even more assurances that "we have you covered."
The amount of games coming out are still top notch.
Forza 2 is actually out.
Games a spewing forth for the system like the fountain of youth.
The attach rate for the system is astronomical.
Gears hasnt been touched graphically by anything.
And last but not least
Halo 3
Uhh yeah I think they will recover.
Last time I checked, nothing monumentally changed from the day before they announced the warranty extension, to the day after.
So we have one issue RROD.
Let us not look at the issues on the PS3.
I'm sorry what lags? Ive played Halo 2 and the only time its jerked up is because of MY connection.
You know the only people who have ever defended Sony's online offering are the fans, not one member of the free press has ever suggested the Sony online is up to it.
Seriuosly, the PS3 has more issues facing it the Xbox360, thats for dam sure.

Completely true maybe i shouldnt have said rubbish but Sony still has some work to do to catch up with Xbox Live. I own a PS3 and it's good but it just doesn't have as much as much as Xbox has right now. Games delayed all the time and lack of GOOD updates and demos doesn't make me happy i bought one. I hope Home can change this honestly and games like Lair and Heavenly Sword come out on time.
PS Thanks for the milk, needed that!

actually, this is completely wrong. In the last issues of Joypad, Jeuxvideos magazine which are french gaming mags, there has been some comparisons of online between all platform. And you know what ? xbox 360 has the edge, but only because it's features are richer and there is more content has it's older. But concerning online gameplay, there has been praise from both mags on the psn, so don't turn your opinion into facts. And i'm sure in many contries there has been some mags that compare both online offering.

RIIIIGHT......The PS3 ahs only lost money due to the expense of the unit, The 360 has lost money on both the cost of the unit and now a whopping 1 Billion due to crappy consoles. By Peter Moors own admission, that number will go up as they have no idea what the problem is. Will a die shrink help? Maybe. Adding extra heatsinks sure hasnt though. The only thing the PS3 has against it right now is the lack of games. That is huge, but not as bad as buying a brick. The games most people want are coming out very shortly, and with the 100$ price drop they will sell a lot more. Hell all Sony needs to do is announce that they are only experiencing a 1% defect rate and are deciding to extend there warranty as well. This will give those on the fence an even greater reason to buy, and not really cost Sony a thing since there consoles dont break any where close to what the 360 does. Either way though your 360 will die and M$ will waste more money fixing it. With Forza2 bricking systems, I cant wait to see what H3 is gonna do. This is the last console for M$. They lost a ton of money on the original due to the hardware, and now they are losing even more this time around. The board members at M$ wont want to keep flushing billions down the toilet.
