They way I've setup my tv as an example for you is as Follows
I've setup the PS3 to use HDMI cable to the TV HDMI input, However the audio is going out on the Optical output on the PS3 into the input Optical of the 5.1 Surround Sound
( it was the Best Digital input on my system - yours might be a mutli-HDMI input and 1 x HDMI Output one on your 5.1 Surround Sound System , then I'd use that one for both video and audio on the ps3 for the one cable {PSŁ HDMI out to 5.1 Sound system HDMI input, then you use another HDMI cable from 5.1 Audio System's HDMI output to the TV Set , obviously if your tv is HDMI capable})
Thats for the PS3 for best Video and Audio

I'm not trying to be rude, but the instructions it came with should help you to wire it up.

I been trying to do the same setup and I'm not getting any sound at all. I've followed the book to the letter adjusting all the settings on the PS3 and still no luck. I just got the Denon AVR-1907 and everything seems fine on that end. I've gone over an over both manuals for about 5 days and I'm starting to lose it. I even went a got 2 new cables.
Does anyone know anything this that can help me? I'm starting to feel like there's something that the books arn't telling me.

First and foremost, we need a detailed description of what connections your TV and 5.1 audio/video reciever have. If you want help, then you have to tell us everything about the type of connections you have and what version of the connections your audio/video reciever and TV support. Example TV supports one HDMI 1.2 input, two component video one input the other output. You have to be specific or you could post close up pictures of the input/output jacks so we can give detailed instructions.
