If it happens after 3 then play it before 1 lol, or your probably better off just playing it after 3. But i thought it came after 2 because he already new some of the people he meets in 1.

just figuring out how to play the games is confusing wait till you start to get into the story lol. Who killed who, which snake is which etc...

Yeah, you just wanna play them in the order they were released. Don't start with MGS3 or anything like that.

MGS1
MGS2
MGS3

And when you get MGS3, be sure to get the Subsistence version, not Snake Eater. It has the Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 MSX games on it.

How long does it take to beta Portable Ops cuase i will probably rent it

it took me like 11 hours to beat. I was wat made my road trip a lot of fun. lol. And yes Psycho Mantis is a really cool boss and one of the best villains in the Metal Gear Games.

ALSO: I reccomend the Special edition versions (substance/subsistance)
because they have extra content and--
MGS3: Subsistance contains Metal Gear 1 and 2 and has online mode.

not playing metal gear 1 or 2 can be a problem....with regards to what happened to big boss, and grey fox...especially when playing MGS1.you can go on wiki and read about the plot

I beat MGS 1, 2, and 3 on the PS2. I'll probably get the subsistence disc to play MG and MG2.
Unarguably my favorite game series, just ahead of fallout.

But I got quite a problem now. I let my friend borrow my PS2, he then let his cousin borrow my PS2 and now my PS2 is missing. I don't care... except for my memory card. Especially my save for MGS 3 where I, along with 2 of my other friends beat the game and unlocked a bunch of cool stuff that I don't have the patience to do so again. And it took me so long to get the sword for MGS 2. I've looked for the save game files but all of them are in some sort of gameshark/genie or whatever type of file.

Does anyone know where I can find a save game file downloadable to my PS3 that has all the goodies unlocked?

hey guys i just borrowed mgs2 and mgs3 from a friend and bought mgs1 off of ebay.

i couldnt wait for mgs1 to come through the mail and so i started mgs2 (but will go back to mgs1 when it comes). The question i have is does anyone have any tips on the gunplay/gunfights in mgs2? It all seems very awkward and the shooting is not very precise when going against 2 or more enemies. What am i missing?

I have MGS, MGS2, MGS3 and MGS:PO and I just started playing them over on my PS3 except PO of course but I was wondering, does anyone have completed PS3 converted saves for each of those? I have them on my PS2 memory cards but I don't want to buy the adapter for just those saves.

Ok sO I just beat MGS now and I have a question I used the walkthrough from ign and at the ending it shows Snake a Myrel riding on the bike/jeep(watever its called) but I got Octaven(Hal) and Meryel died I don't get how she is in the pic though if she is died! Someone plaease explain!

Anton: First, I try to avoid as many gunfights as I can. Next, when it happens I'll take a hit to get a head shot in first person. But the lack of MGS playing and general game playing has made me significantly less sneaky than I was which is resulting in a lot more gunfights.

in my opinion acid is just about as usless for the psp as chain of memories was the graphics novel is kinda cool but not a must have as long as you play mpo your golden that by far was one of the best experiences me and my psp have ever had we were owed MPO after having to be put through the acid games

congrats dude. your pretty much done with the metal gear series. its kinda funny because i just started playing the games 2 months ago. i just found this thread and you were pretty much in the exact situation as i was. i did in the order of the story. 3-1-2. i wiki'd mg1/2 and p.o. i had to go and buy a gamecube memory card and controller for the first game. i think i should have played it in the order they were realesed because i played with the 3d camera from subsistance and when i played mgs1 and mgs2 i HATED the camera. lol. im 3-4 hours into mgs2 and i love it. i played mgs1 for the ps at my friends house and the gamecube version is soooo much better imo. cant wait for mgs4
