I was readin some PS3 stuff over in an XBOX forum and came across this recent post..now it confused me a bit and I really dont have a claue what there were getting at exactly..after reading it myself through google translate it didnt make things better, at all.
Basically what I think the poster and the article was saying is that the PS3 OS is based off of the PSP OS? I dont really know, maybe you guys can have a look and explain what if any importance this is.
The original poster qouted this entry in the page saying PS3 OS = PSP OS modified..I dont knwo if this is good bad inbetween, etc..
ALl in all I did read replys stating maybe it meant upgradable features in the cell leading to "more" power etc..- The OS development of PS3 which has complication
You can see considerable change in project of the software layer of PS3. In the first place, as for OS and present OS of the early conception time, you say that completely it is another project. Originally, also the development of the high function OS which, it runs from the development stage of the Cell B.E. tip/chip itself, on that parallel it was advanced. But, it reached the limits in a some reason, substituted the OS development, and it is said that the present OS team took over the development of OS. SCE stacked the experience of OS development with PSP, it is seen that the present OS development of PS3 was done with the extension.
In addition, also structure of the software stack of PS3 changed. As for the originally software vision of SCE, with the hypothetical machine on the Cell hyper visor, it was something which can send game OS and general purpose OS simultaneously. SCE, considerably to the latter term of PS3 development, the group of industry authorized personnel testifies that this conception was examined. Hisashi 夛 well in the word, “wooden person and with PS3 OS application” with interview of the time before, this conception was suggested
so have a look and maybe you guys more tech savy then myself and the limited amount of PS3 guys on that forum can decipher and explain if this is of any importance.
