Quick story behind this...pretty funny


I'm 28, married and live in Austin, TX. I was home (Waco, TX) during July 4th holiday. I have spent about the last 3 months convincing my wife that I needed to get a PS3.....finally after what seemed like forever, she agreed, and we were on the way to Circuit City to make the purchase (with my mom as well...we had been shopping for our house in austin). My pops calls me up, and he ends up meeting me there to check out what I was buying.

Well, I'm sitting there looking over games choosing which to get with it and from across the store, I hear a demo going with Motorstorm. I look up to see my old man playing it. 15 mins later, he comes over, tell my mom he has to get one.

Next thing i know, my 53 yr. old dad is walking out with a PS3, HDMI cables, extra controller, RFOM, and Motorstorm and I'm walking out empty handed. (The wife said to let him play it, get bored, and then give it to me).

Well 2 weeks later, he can't stop playing it and says theres NO WAY IN H-LL he's giving it to me. So, I ran out last week and bought my own. WOO HOO!!! LOVE IT!!


Reason for this story is that my pops is a big NASCAR fan, and I'm wanting to get it for him.....so let me know what you guys think once you've seen reviews or played it yourself.

that's comedy! my pops wants a ps3 too, mainly for the blu-ray, but i think he'd get into the games too if he tried it

haha I get that a lot..he's a jerk there's no doubt..but that's kinda why i like him..there's no middle ground though, you either hate him or love him, but you gotta give him prop's the guy can drive a stock car...or any other kinda race car for that matter

that was a bad week for sure..BUT he got a pep talk from Gibbs and won the next week ..You have a favorite driver?.......oh, I picked up the game, now I just have to finish my work day! so I can practice running over Hamlin in my big orange hahahaha j/k

That is a good story. i am really hoping this game fixes alot of the isues with past Nascar games. I have to say that I am a baby bush fan....go Kyle!!!!!!!! He reminds my of Dale Sr.'s driving style. I am sick of all the politically correct drivers now days.

YEAH!! I like the 5 too! Smoke first but then I like the 5 and the 11..Good Call...But the 5 is another driver that you either Love or Hate..

It was his teammates fault for slowing down!! lol what an ass! I got the game and it is pretty good the only issue I have so far is I can't figure out how to go as fast as everyone else without crashing. I think most have the same problem though cuz i played 1 online game and somehow won it. If you like Nascar though you will probably like it otherwise I'd say don't get it if you are just into racing games. The car handling is also weird, but I hope I can get used to it eventually.

I find watching NASCAR sometimes interesting, but playing a game of it would really bore me.

a guy at espn's board got it..said that gameplay is NICE, only complaint he had was no split screen (i don't care about that cuz i'd race online mostly)..he has for 360 though

I said my impressions it is good, but the car handling is VERY difficult. The graphics are very good and like NCAA 08 it has ESPN on demand and ESPN radio updates. Also it has mic support an 1-12 players online.

Is it true you have to press X to speak ? can this be toggled to open mic ?

When you create a room with say no assists .... does that mean people who use assists can not enter the room? hope so .

this game is great..it's very challenging though..you have to drive a lot more realistically. The L2 and R2 buttons on the ps3 controller are great, you can actually tell the difference with the pressure sensitivity..I had to learn the hard way after many spinouts that you can't gun it too early in a turn, same with the analog stick, you cannot turn it all the way all the time since it measures how hard you want the car to turn with pressure sensitivity as well..Graphics are nice, gameplay is a lot deeper than ps2..Nice entry to the next gen!
