EGM september 2007 review scores (Blue Dragon)

    all pro football: 6.5, 6.5, 7.0
    ncaa football 2008: 8.5, 9.0, 8.5
    stuntman ignition: 7.5, 7.5, 7.0
    nascar 08: 6.5, 6.5, 6.5
    blue dragon: 6.5, 7.5, 6.5

What they had to say on Blue Dragon:

it has neither strong characters nor gripping storytelling, the battle system is "stellar" but unaccompanied by any sort of interesting plot to hang your hat on. bryan is a bit easier on the story than andrew fitch (who had the lead review), and ray called it "safe."
I hope to god that this isn't the way the game is recieved across the board. If it is I'll just have to hold off buying the game till it hits budget because TBH, if a couple more games don't go down as well as expected, it will do wonders for my wallet this fall and make my decisions easier.

u got that from the same place i got my lair reviews.....but my thread was locked....and if this thread isnt it just shows the incredible bias of the mods here.

anyways im surprised blue dragon scored that high the demo was awful i hate the artstyle, storyline, and the repetitive vile combat.

    blue dragon: 6.5, 7.5, 6.5
Like my predict before, Blue Dragoon isnt good RPG. BTW the score is very low for exclusive big RPG at 360 and this score is not bigger than last-gen RPG FF XII, HACK, etc

Donating for me is always welcoming . . ., please donate me

No it just shows the denial and insecurity of some of the fanboys around here. If i was a mod i'd of locked it because the bull**** in that thread was unreal. Blue Dragon demo sucked arse, im not buying it. Lair looks boring and repetetive. Both games blow get over it everyone. Lair isn't the knight in shining armour you guys were expecting it to be, you'll just have to hype up another game now, the world goes on.

Just get the game if you enjoy, EGM reviews suck

Blue Dragon finds the perfect balance between linearity and excessive freedom - it doesn't embarrass you by holding your hand, and yet it doesn't just leave you alone crying in the supermarket. Hironobu Sakaguchi (the FF creator and Blue Dragon mastermind) is as good a parent as Shigeru Miyamoto.

If the market allows giant-budget RPGs in the "Final Fantasy VII" mold to continue to be made(and there is some doubt as to that), they're going to look and feel a lot like this game...and for that reason alone, Blue Dragon is an absolute must-play. [JPN Import; Feb 2007, p.74]

It does as much as "Final Fantasy XII" to inspire hope that RPG developers are now beginning to look forward. In this instance, looking ahead results in a slightly more linear experience than some hardened role-playing game fans may appreciate. [Feb 2007, p.116]

There you have it - the 360's first legit RPG. It’s long, it’s been very solidly put together, and it can get some serious hooks into you once you’ve settled into its role-playing rhythm, something that won’t be for everyone, but that’s good news, right? [JPN Import]

Why should i? I don't know what happened in the Lair thread and i don't see a reason why i should close this one.

If people enjoyed the demo, they will enjoy the game.

Didn't think much of the Blue Dragon demo really, which is unfortunate I was actually thinking I might enjoy this particularly JRPG. Here's to hoping Lost Odyssey is more my bag.

i posted a thread on lair getting a 5.0/10 from EGM but it was locked.
    http://ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=88557
the "fans" went crazy called EGM anti-ps3 and that the site was not a reliable source since the Sept. issue of EGM is not out yet so the thread was locked.

Now GHB has posted Blue Dragon scores from the same source i got my Lair review from.
So if my source was not good enough then neither is this and should be locked.

The only thing that matters in regard to reviews is averages.

    http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/927950.asp

so far 89% which is a very good score.

Personally I wouldn't buy the game... I don't like most jap games.

I really enjoyed the Stuntman demo. Just not enough to buy the game.

@ Loudninja, I know, I'll probably still buy the game anyway. I'll need something to hold me over until October (GTAIV, COD4 etc).

Hahahh! Sil3ntT3ears, you´re so full of your self... so funny..you act like a 8 year old...

Ahhh..thanks for the laugh!(wipes away tears) ...ok, on topic: I´m certain BD is a stellar game, if you´re into classic JRPG´s... play the demo and judge yourself.

Items Final Fantasy VFinal Fantasy IV
Loudninja's post with all those scores speaks volumes. I knew this game didn't get a 37 out of 40 from Famitsu for nothing. Maybe the people who played it at EGM didn't really like JRPGs. I know I played the demo and enjoyed it immensely, in fact it surpassed my expectations.

Currently playing? Skyrim (360). White Knight Chronicles (PS3). Majoras Mask (Wii). Final Fanasy VII (PS2). Just completed? Final Fantasy VI.

If i had to review the game, i would crucify it....(based off the demo)

but lots of other people seem to enjoy it.

I'm sure it's fun if it's your thing.

I wouldn't worry about it, online reviews and trailers are about as reliable as a bucket with a hole in it, the thing about the 360 is we got our hands on the actual demo and played it for ourselves, hence Internet reviews become defunct.

So it does not matter if tom,**** or harry give it a bad score, you can make your own mind up.
