After reading another thread and sirens suggestion i thought id make it into reality, any how here is a place you can discuss all things windows. From comparisons of windows to your worst windows moments, and to discuss the next gen OS 'a.k.a longhorn' and also windows related humor, (like ceMEnt). Any how to start off id thought a little humor to break the ice.

I haven't had any major issues with WinXP. It is my favorite Windows OS especially after coming from Windows 98.

Yea, prior to Windows 2k, life was a pain.
I personally have to disagree with the statement that Win2k is better. Having seen both in costant operation and under extreme stress scenarios that you couldn't even imagine, Win2k turns over dead easily 3x as often as XP.
Yes, when XP came out there were a ton of issues. Most of these were due to lack of drivers being provided by 3rd parties, or quickly written ones that caused massive issues.
Now there are a ton of drivers out there, most of them at least adaquate. Microsoft themselves have written a small horde of class drivers that handle most USB, 1394, and even PCI devices.
Some people complaign about the performance under Windows. The minimal difference I have seen is usually due to the System Restore Wizard running in the background or the "Luna" UI (the blue thing).
Both can easily be shut off in advanced settings. This should increase your perf a couple of percent.
If your HD is significantly more loaded. Shutting off System Restore will free up a lot of space. Also making sure that your system is not set for Hibernation support under power management will free up an equivelent amount of space as your system has RAM.
For Spyware/Adware removers, I would recommend the following (and so does Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...kcomputer.mspx)
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
Microsoft - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
All 3 have been very highly rated. Though based on experience testing each, I would actually recommend you install all 3 and run all 3 at least once a week following updating them to the latest definitions.
Also be sure to load up a Anti-Virus Program & XP Service Pack2. Even though the number of vulnerabilities in Windows is down sharply from it's peak in 2001, it is still way to high to not protect yourself.
