Gameplay: 84 /100
Well, let me first say I have like the NFS franchise and I like the sstyle of gameplay. Somewhat free-roam street racing at its best. Police chases galore, and alrigth online playabilty. The way this game is set up is that you have to go up against Blacklist racers and move up in ranking to beat the guy who jipped you in your first race. You meet a girl named Mia who is pretty hot and she sets you up with a starter car. You beat side-races and escape cops to earn street respect and cash to upgrade your car.
For a 360 title I expected a little more gameplay elements, its basically a stripped down version of NFS: UNderground 2. When you crash into cars dont expect anything like Full Auto or Burnout, and the racing is nothing compared to PGR3 or GT4.
Graphics: 78/100
Well, really I haven't seen a whole lot that has made me like WOW. The Xbox 360 has amazing graphics and is nothing like it predecessors. NFS: Most Wanted looks just a tid better than the xbox version, just smoother and little bit better particle effects. When raing, because of the bumps in the road the whole screen moves choppily and seems to drop framrate in high end police chases and crashes.
Value: 72/100
Cheesy storyline, and there are not alot of titles now for the 360 but there are definitly better.
Sound: 75/100
Average
Xbox Live: 75/100
Nothing original such as Gotham TV, and the racing is somewhat laggy. Not the best option for this game.
Overall: 76.8/100
Rent it and beat it for the unlockable achievements.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted
-

Why do you always compare games to other games that aren't the same type? Need For Speed: Most Wanted is NOT a Burnout or Full Auto, neither is it anywhere near GT or PGR. It is a different style than the rest, so it isn't going to be the same. I think that this game is pretty good, not as good as PGR in my opinion, but for a NFS title, I like this a lot better than the Underground series.

Nouse4aname68, it is perfectly fine to compare it to greater racing games. This game is a racing game is it not? I belive it has veichle customization as many do racing games now, and it featured a car crashing and damage modleing. It takes a little from every racing game out there and puts it into one game.

It's a high speed racing that is based on running from the cops. Burnout is a high speed racer having to do with wrecks and they don't run on the same engine even.
Full Auto is a racing game with guns.
Project Gothem Racing is a racing sim/high speed mix that has to do more with "looking good" while racing.
Gran Turismo 4 is a racing simulator and therefore has nothing in common with Need For Speed.
Your review on sound is poor. You can't just say average, why is it average? For one thing, it's not. Every performance upgrade, having to do with the engine of the car in some way, changes the sound of every car in the game, every time. The sound is actually amazing, and the police chatter is great. The game features less music than it's predecessors because you will mainly be hearly police chatter. Running from the cops will instantly change to an upbeat song and will allow you to hear the police chatter perfectly. If you listen they give away information as to where a roadblock is, what side the spike strip is on, and when backup will arrive.
So maybe you should, this is my honest opinion, rereview this game because either your not even a fan of High Speed racing games, or you just don't know how to review.

But it is a racing game is it not? The only thing that makes it differ from others are cop chases. I used Burnout and Full Auto as examples becuase of the crashing into cars and stuff. I thought that since the Xbox360 is a new console that with their arcadeeee type games could fit more content such as crahses like Burnout or Buildings blowing up as seen in Full Auto. Customibility is like something you see in past titles or Midnight Club and the racing isn't near as good as any other racing title. Thats all I meant by my review. I was not impressed with the title because it didn't offer anything new.

You want it to offer something new, yet you criticize it for not being exactly like Burnout...odd.
"Yea, I work for PSU...wanna fight about it?"

It doesn't offer anything new? Are you serious? I've never seen a race like speedtrap in a racing game before? Plus need for speed was out before midnight club was so customizable stuff isn't something seen as in past title like midnight club.
The racing wasn't fun because you obviously aren't a fan of this type of game. Infact, your the only person so far that I have heard that said the game didn't live up to it's predecessors.
To my knownledge Full Auto isn't even out yet. Am I right? So you shouldn't be comparing any game that is out to full auto yet because you really don't know how that game will turn out. What is full auto bring that is new anyways? Cars with guns? Can anyone say spyhunter? aside from the fact that they added other racers, it's pretty much the same.
As for the storyline being bad? Wtf.. okay, have you ever heard of a straightout racing game with a good storyline? No. It actually hasn't came out yet. They don't need a storyline to have a good racing game. The storyline here was just a plus. For a racing game, it was actually an okay storyline, it has been done before probably, but who cares. Guy ruins your ride, gets to the top, you start from the bottom and get your ride back.
Whatever though. You reviewed this game and gave it a bad score. I should respect your review, even if I disagree with it.

Twisted Metal had a good storyline I thought. At least the origninal did for the ps1.

That game is fun but after you beat the "blacklist" its pretty much over. So i say rent it, unless you are a hardcore fan and want to have it.

Well....unless you are really good at racing games, this takes a little more than a couple days to beat. rent it and try it. If you like it buy it, but it will be hard to get all achievments in a few days.

The big problem i have Most Wanted, is that EA still has set tracks. While Midnight Club lets you pick the route you want to take

Yeah...that would be cool if they added something like a design your own track simlilar to that in PGR3. Even if it was just for online play.

01-23-2006 #13aah thats nothing, i agree with you that low (to compare different games) but he is comoparing games from the genre racing, there was once a guy in another forum which compared halo3 and fatal inertia, yeah....

in all nfs games there is a major aspect of of game. the first versions were about geting chased by cops. then the undergrouns were about street racing and tricking out cars. undergound 2 introduced the roam free feature which for me got annoying caause u had to drive everywhere. Most wanted has a good blend of all three features. i think this is the best version yet and i enjoyed the online. i also liked the way they had the different cars. from coblatss's to ferraris. the story line is pretty good but one thing doesnt make sense to me. when u get your bmw back and u leavee your other car behind, dont u think since u beat razor that your other car is better and that u should get away in that instead?

While everybody knows how EA loves putting out as many games as possible (not even caring if they are good or bad). So here is my review of Need for Speed Most Wanted.
Gameplay 65/100
The same plain made up city, that looks to perfect to be true. The race modes are nothing real good, just the regular cicruit, spint, and drag. Really adding two new ways to race that are differents forms of older types of racing.
Graphics 70/100
Nothing to me that sceams next-gen, just really good current-gen graphics.
Value 80/100
The saving grace for this game is the massive police chases yuo are able to get your self into
Sound 35/100
The soundtrack that was made for this game is to me terrible
The sound that comes from the engines is not even close to being even close to good
Xbox Live n/a
Will be added at a later date.
Overall 51/100
So far from what am hearing this is said to be the better of the three racing launch titles made for the 360. I don't know this for fact but if anyone does know please tell us.

Worst review ever. Like nouse4aname68 said, you're comparing games that shouldn't even be compared at all. Its like comparing a MMORPG to a Single Player RPG, you just can't do that.
-
03-13-2006 #18How about, rather than complaining you write a better review?

This game did suck both Current and Next-Gen it lacked in so many areas that I can't even begin to count. Customization was bad I wanted to fully customize the car, but the Body Kit thing ticked me off. Races were boring compared to MC1-3 I liked taking a route I choose and then on top of that. Unordered races were hard as hell to beat too that made it even more fun. Speedtrap was a bad race I mean its just you I could understand if it had others in it.

I'm playing this game right now on the PS2, and I'm quite enjoying it myself. I haven't played that many racing games though, just getting into the genre but it seems like a fun game to me, I'm not usually into R&B music either, but I really like the soundtrack to this game too.

Consoles: PS3 / PS2 / PS1 / 360 / Xbox / Gamecube / N64 / Dreamcast / Saturn
