The other Mod's and Admin's have known this for a while now. Figured it was about time I update everyone else here.
I am no longer an employee of Microsoft. As of a couple of weeks ago I had submitted my resignation and started work at another company.
What does this mean to everyone here?
My knowledge concerning the Xbox Project and Xenon projects is still here. My knowledge of the Console Gaming industry at large does not vanish. I will still be able to comment like I always have and still have my same resources for information concerning the industry.
Does this mean I can talk more freely?
Not even close. I am still under a non-disclosure agreement. As such, I am not going to disclose anything that is not already public available. In some cases, I still may not comment as it has not been confirmed or denide by Microsoft.
Who do work for now?
I will not disclose my new employer. Why? This would in part help to reveal my identity. This is something I do not wish to do. This would also potentially cause my new employer headaches as people may unduely spam them due to me. Thus causing my extra headaches and potential job difficulties.
Did I go to Sony?
Nope. Nor did I go to work for Nintendo (though I almost too a job with them).
What did I do at Microsoft?
Still not going to say, see my answer to who I work for now.

Because it is only fair to those that frequent this forum. It was publically known that I worked for Microsoft. Now it is known that I no longer do.

if you were a run of the mill low down employee then telling us who you work for now wouldn’t give your identity away really, unless there were some people obsessed with finding out who you are. which means he has to be at least half the way up the ladder

Don't worry Siren, we're not stalkers.
Have fun in your new job, and by the way, you don't ever ask a man anything about what and where he works. Just like not asking a woman's age.

I thought I had heard you say you weren't probably going to work at Microsoft anymore. Well I'm glad that you have a new job. Hopefully you will like this one better and have more "fun" at it.

Well, I'm here to pay my respect (err... not really, it's not like this is a solemn occasion, is it?). Good luck on your new job buddy
. And have fun (as everyone else have said).
Yeah, I'm not the most original guy on the forum, but hey, what can I do about it?I am a moron. Do not argue with me because I will drag you down to my level and win with experience

Microsoft was a great place to work. Just, like every large corporation, certain barriers start to appear. I can become harder and harder to do your job and it feels less and less like you are making an impact.
My new employer is smaller by several magnitudes.
To answer the question why I came to the PS3forums. Well, just like all of you, I like to chat about what I know and Love.
I have been a moderater at several forums including IGN and Gamespot. Overtime, I became sick and tired of all the aweful posting. Forums seem to bring out the worst in people.
When I found the PS3forums I was immediately shocked by the sheer quality of the posting. Morph and Blake impressed me beyond belief. So I dumped pretty much all other forums and came here.
That is why you will see me getting cranky when I see people posting like they do else where. We do not need "Another Gaming Forum". What we need and want is "A Great Gaming Forum". One where people are welcome to speak there mind, but do so in a considerate and mature fassion. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. This is a personal communication and in no way represents the official or unofficial views or opinions of my employer.

02-16-2005 #14That's exactly what Rebon and I have been trying to create. I don't ever want to see this place turn into a forum full of fan boys and ridiculous inane chatter. That's why we have gone to the lengths we have to make this forum as mature and interesting as possible. Hence the Skill Points, hence the strict moderating, hence the rules! What we need and want is "A Great Gaming Forum". One where people are welcome to speak there mind, but do so in a considerate and mature fassion.
We were very careful when hiring moderators because they play such a huge role in the overall quality of the forum. At first, myself and Rebon could pretty much cope with it, but after about 500 users, we hired Blake, who did an amazing job and now more recently we had to expand the team even further to include PBM and Siren, both of which have done a great job at raising the level of debate and cleaning up the boards! So I would just like to say thanks very much to both of them for doing such a great job.

ey Siren i know what ya mean, in forums people turn into others, i mean, a discussion abut a thing like a game can end up in a fight, childish.
And i used to post at IGN.

Just like M$, I just can't trust them anymore. The people who does are fools.

02-19-2005 #18That's because we chase them away before they they could post. Lol, you'll see it happen sometimes if they keep up the fanboyism.

Ahh, yes, good ol IGN, I think the Vestibule there spells out how the rest of the boards are like, disrespect, childish name-calling, flaming, and unconstructive arguements.

Sorry about the job? It was a sweet job at a major corporation. If it wasn't for the experience I gained at Microsoft, I would not be even 1/4th the person that my resume says I am.
It just that I made a decision when I first got hired at MS. There is only so long that someone should work at one job. I wanted to be there for about 5 years. At one point I reconsidered and thought I might be there for about 20 years, but that went out the door when MS in part stopped pumping out Millionaires and cutting back on benefits. The final straw that broke the camels back was when I realized that I worked on a product that would be in the hands of 10's of Millions of people, and I was not able to say that what I did for it was more than anyone else could have done, given enough time.
Working at a small company is a lot different and at least for my style of work and personality, a lot better. You never hold just one job in a small company. You never are just this or just that. Jobs are more vague and everyone is expected to help make the product what it is. Everyone is a designer. Everyone is a developer. Everyone is a Product Manager. Everyone is a Tester. Everyone is Marketing. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
