Never thought it wouldn't, still think it will. The remake will be there final "Sha-Bang" for the FF7 franchise, why would they announce it now, or even allude to it, when it would hog all the lime-light for there various, unreleased, spin-offs like Crisis Core and other unannounced ones? When there sick of spin-offs they will finish it with what we actually want, but until then theres still money to be made!

Poor naive person, if you believe everything they say then I pity you. It's called Marketing and PR, they can say what they want as long as they aren't promising anything. The remakes been in talks for ages, you think they haven't been talking about at all after the entire Compliation they've made for it etc. It's simple marketing not to reveal your winning card at the start of the game, you wait till the time is apt, ie. the end of the Compilation and then reveal it.
We won't see it until 2010 at least, but it will come.

I'm just saying, "no plans for a FF:VII remake" does not mean they have no plans for it, they are just saying that till they want to reveal it/start it.
I'll give the Compilation a good 3-4 years before they run out of ideas.
Bear in mind I didn't say 'release' for 2010, I said 'see; and 'at least'.

Imaizumi said that the remake of FFVII is a question of timing, mentioning that Kitase, Nomura and Tabata are all busy with the Final Fantasy XIII series. He added that a new game of some form would be announced at the Tokyo Game Show. It's not certain if this new game is in the FFXIII series or a completely new title from Kitase, Nomura and Tabata--but PlayStation 3 owners should be very excited.
there ya go... don't know if u found it but...well im excited!!!

yeah, havin' said that, it's not unlikely there'll be a new ps3 game there, i just hope it's exclusive, new i.p or old franchise doesnt matter, as long as they use some of the ps3s untapped potential

An idea of an FFVII sounds good, but if it's gonna be the same FFVII except with better graphics and sound, it'd be pointless (irrespectively of how much it's going to sell).
I'd like to play FFVII from Sephiroth's point of view.

I don't think they'd go that far as to Sephiroths point of view (unless theres a sephiroth game in the works) but im guessin they will integrate some newer stuff into the plot, to help tie in with all of the new spin offs better, like maybe a cameo from Genesis, or even a mention of him in the game.
But most people would prefer the game to be the same game, just with amazing AC like graphics.

Before I edited my post, I wrote "this might be too far fetched, but I would like to play FFVII from Sephiroth's point of view". So there you go.
All I can hope for, is that brief Sephiroth playable sequence in Cloud's flashback would be longer. That, and a continuation of FFVII's plot (after FFVII and before Advent Children) where Cloud seeks the great Mage of the Seven Mountains to send him to Hell, where he fuses with Aerith to combat Sephiroth, Chuck Norris and Satan.

its kinda obvious that SE is waiting to see how well Crisis Core does before they decide anything. That combined with SE having FFXIII and FFvsXIII for PS3 in the works lead me to believe that if a FFVII remake is made, it will be on the psp.
if you think about it makes sense. crisis core shows they already shows they have a solid graphical engine in place on the psp. development could go parallel to the other titles. the cost would be much less than making a console version. new psp's have video out for those who want to play it on their tvs
the only concern they might have is piracy but as i said, if CC has good sales on the psp, they might be willing to take the risk. also im pretty sure sony could release a new firmware as an extra precaution for the game.Sig by The House[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
