Sitting here on my couch patiently waiting the arrival of my next game heavenly sword, I decided to take a trip around the inter web, reading the various reviews. The one thing that’s most common amongst all the reviews is the lack of replay value, which leads me to my question. Do you think Sony will release downloadable content for this game? Maybe new weapons or perhaps even episodic content, you know some thing that will keep the players coming back and preventing this game from ending up just being a rental.
P.S
Sorry if the title was a little misleading.

Im pretty sure we will get some downloadable content eventually. New modes maybe like is happening for Ninja Gaiden. But ill say it will come.

Episodic content is out of the question since the game is intended to be part of a triology (gosh ... game makers these days don't seem content with making one complete game in the fullest sense).
I know that's a bit off topic, and would fit better in any of the 409 existing threads about Heavenly Sword, but the dudes/dudettes should have made an 18 hour adventure, instead of 3 six-hour games (supposing the next HS's, if they'd ever be greenlighted by sony, will have a similar length to HS).
To me, this game went from buying-a-PS3-for-the-sake-of-playing-this-OMFG-pwnz0r-game to playing it on a friend's PS3 in one sit-through if he gets it.

I was thinking about this also. It would be a great addition to the game if they added content. In the tradition of them releasing content for R:FOM & MotorStorm I can definitely see them releasing an extra stage or some kind of bonus content for it. I am getting the game regardless. I also hate the way they complain about the replay value when the dev's have stated that "Hell Mode" is extremely difficult. I wouldn't mind some cosutumes for Nariko though

lol lets start the tomb raider rumor over again. i heard from a friends friends friend who works at ninja theory that their is a nude code all you have to do is beat it on hell mode 6 times. anyway if hells mode is anything like god mode in god of war of master ninja in Ngs its going to be a while.

Hmmm. I've replayed the demo about 20 times and haven't got bored of it so it can't be that bad can it! Can't wait for this to come out. Hope to get a new tv soon after so I can see Nariko in all her 1080p glory
I'm sure there'll be some downloadable content, but either way I just want this to come out nowwww.

in terms of downloadable content for this game, theres many ideas they can do! i alone can think of some really great things ninja theory can do as downloadable content. as far as i know the game is broken up into chapters/missions.. ninja theory can add new chapters via downloadable content!. also they can add new customs , and of course new missions or quest to do. but i HIGHLY doubt they will...

i would really enjoy new missions and costumes, new weapons would be great and maybe a prologue im pretty sure someone mentioned it already. it would also be nice to have an online multiplayer where players can duke it out like a battle royal or something but im not holding my breath.

one of the things I remember reading about HS a few months ago was that the developers were going to implement things like extra outfits for Nariko, stands to reason they might offer up extra modes just like Team Ninja did for Ninja Gaiden. In this age of downloadable content there's absolutly no reason there should aever be a such thing as "too little" gameplay,it's just a question of how much extra it's going to cost because the value of the complete product will ALWAYS be something people are critical of. As it stands I barely forced myself to buy the extra maps for Resistance. I doubt I'll ever bother with the extras for Motorstorm unless they smarten up and add more than just one reversed track.
I just finished watching the Kai gameplay video over at gametrailers and frankly I could see her having a whole game on her own much less a few downloadable missions.

I know heavenly sword is an action game but maybe they could put in some in-game puzzles or something. Where at certain points you get taken out and have to do a puzzle and unlock some sort of goodie, that would make you want to replay it.

there are already puzzle solving elements in it.

from reading reviews and stuff it appears there are very few, and not the greatest.. throwing a hat and steering it with the sixaxis and trying to hit things is far from puzzle solving in my book, but im glad they put it in, i was scared this title was going to be ONLY fighting and no exploration or nothing more.. its still no god(dess) of war, but its the first for a PS3. cant wait for GoW3 though!.
