Here is a new game that I have never heard or seen before. It looks great so far in its early development.

Sony reveals hope for Bigbig Studios first PSP title, promising unique driving and combat experience…
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today lifted the wraps from one of its biggest hopes for the PSP, Pursuit Force, described as a fast-paced arcade/action title that fuses driving and combat dynamics together with explosive effect.
Currently in development at Bigbig Studio, an offshoot of Evolution Studios (WRC) focussed entirely on development for the Sony PSP; Pursuit Force follows the misadventures of a rookie Police Officer, tracking down five criminal gangs across a fictional state in America.
Assisted by the old school, short-tempered Chief of the Pursuit Force who likes to play by the book, you’ll find yourself in an adrenaline-fuelled, high-speed chase across 400km of city streets, freeways and off-road tracks.
The game features more than 30 missions set across five districts, whilst making use of the ability to “jump” between vehicles whilst racing at speeds of over 150mph!
Whilst hanging onto a moving vehicle, the occupants will often attempt to throw you off it, as you engage in intense combat, dodging bullets and defying gravity to avoid falling off. This feature promises to inject a healthy dose of originality into a tiring genre, and could lead to some exciting situations within the game.
Scheduled for a European release in Autumn 2005; we’ll have more on Pursuit Force very soon.

New game Pursuit Force

no US release? and the game seems like it might get old and boring quick, but if it focuses more on the driving/chasing aspect then jumping from car to car then i think it might have promise.
Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside.
Dear MacGuyver, Enclosed is a rubber band, a paper clip, and a drinking straw. Please save my dog.

Looks like the GTA for PSP. Doesn't it?

hmmm...:'m not sure, it doesnt say you can walk around so i guess I honestly dont know...but ill check IGN and gamespot for info...*cheking right now* well, all there was was this article:
and like I said, all that there is seems to be just car chases and gun battles in the game...not too exciting IMO..Sony Computer Entertainment puts you in the middle of high-speed chases as you race through city streets in dangerous pursuit of the criminal element. As a highway cop, you seize cars or motorbikes and engage in gun battles while in hot pursuit.

Well it looks like it because in a picture it shows a guy jumping over a car or something.

02-18-2005 #6You gotta remember that the games will be region free so if you want it badly enough you can just import it from Europe.

It probably will get release in the US. Why would it not?

if it isn't a very good game or the publisher isn't one that usually does US releases, but this game imparticular does not seem like i'd want to import it.

I don't know if it’s just me but the graphics don’t really look like PSP quality games. compared to the other screen shots of the PSP in action, and those ones seems to me like they're a lot better than these...but maybe this is just because the image is bigger....

that probably has something to do with it but the game in general just seems to be a sub-par game.

Sub-par game huh?? Well check these six new screenshots out.

What do you think? Can it give the PSP version of GTA a run for its money?
-
02-24-2005 #12
these pictures sure improve the image of the game and now it looks more interesting IMO, although I don’t think it will be very good competition with GTA because as shown from all the images posted, none of them have any characters walking around the city like GTA does. Also, right from the name of the game you can tell that it’s mainly a chasing game ..."Pursuit Force" and not a GTA-like-RPG.

It's like the opposite of GTA. Your the cop in this one. Your catching the bad guys. Now maybe this will give people that not ALL games with guns are bad.

Oh no, even if it shows the valiant efforts of poilce (S.W.A.T.) it either gets ignored by people who usually do the screaming, or it still gets screamed at for promoting a bad image of police. It's sort of a "we'll tell you how far is too far, but not reward you for going in the right direction" kind of thing

This trailer really makes the game look better than I had expected it to be. This just might be a game that I actually might get.

Sorry to bring back an old topic, but this game is getting its US release finally
and wow,Pursuit Force Pursuing North America
Because America's good enough for gritty car-chasing cop action.
by David Adams
November 30, 2005 - Sony has decided to let us in on "Hollywood-style" street chase action: the company announced today that Pursuit Force will make its way to North America. Scheduled for release in Spring 2006, the game offers high-speed chases and shootouts wrapped up as police thriller.
As a rookie cop, you'll seize cars or motorbikes and engage in gun battles while in hot pursuit, jumping between vehicles and latching onto crook's cars while racing across the pavement at over 100 miles per hour. Along with cars and bikes, you'll hop into SUVs, buses, speedboats, and even helicopters. Action moves across five distinct environments, from city streets to dusty terrain.
"Pursuit Force is an original IP exclusive for the PSP system that introduces a number of innovative features sure to make it one of next year's most wanted titles," said Susan Nourai at Sony Computer Entertainment America. "With superb production value, a huge variety in missions, and the groundbreaking gameplay mechanic of leaping between moving vehicles, Pursuit Force delivers intense action that adds depth to the ever expanding lineup of PSP software."

When I first saw the one on the top left corner, I though I was watching ridge race 6 for the xbox 360 for a second, okay for a slight second. This game looks superp on the PSP, it looks better than some games (older ones) on the PS2 which I find funny. I didn't know the graphics could be this good on the PSP. In terms of graphics, this definetely beats GTA:LCS.My PSN is Yang_wan.

Impress-Watch: PS3 games will take massive price increase
Impress-Watch, a popular Japanese gaming website, has published a new edition of it's Random Tracking feature. The author of Random Tracking, a well known columnist for several Japanese publications, has stated that PS3 titles will range from 8,800-9,800 yen. This article remains sourcless, citing "multiple information sources".
IGN has published an interesting write-up on the alleged article, claiming that the price increase is due to Sony's failure to make the PS3 an open platform as was planned.
According to the article, Sony was, as of E3, planning to alleviate cost pressures on 3rd parties by lowering royalty costs. The thinking at the time was that users would be able to create their own games and distribute them online throught he PS3, and Sony would not be able to charge royalties for such titles. The company would want to offer 3rd parties a similar pricing environment, with the savings from royalty costs passed on to consumers in the form of lower software prices.
However, this strategy has apparently been put on hold as Sony has been unable to complete preparations for turning the PS3 into an open platform.
The IW article then goes on to state that Sony may be changing it's marketing strategy to one SKU, rather then two, with more focus being on the 20GB. He also notes that Sony will sell it's console at a suprisingly low price and recover lost profits through software royalties citing distrubution firms as his source.
This article sounds feasible, but I don't think Sony can take anymore bad PR from increasing the software price model. People are already angry about the price, and this would only add salt to the wound.
