Why would he announce a pricecut at a keynote? No way he would be able to implement it immediately, and if there was ANY period of delay, sales would plummet to 0 during that time! He will likely announce the price cut later, like around the time of the beginning of the holiday season (November, maybe just before Thanksgiving is my guess)

If the price drop isn't happening at the exact moments of the announcement then it's pointless. It would be stupid for them to give a date of when the price drop will take place. Then no one would go buy the system now. They would just wait.

Notice this is the TOKYO game show... We want a US price drop (and european) not a Japanese one, so... Yeah, they're not gonna announce a US price drop in Japan... The US is where it's really doing the worst, and the price drop is most needed in Europe, so it's those two markets you'd want to see something like that.

Besides, the 40 gig machine may not release until march. That's when the price drop hits... After the 60 gigs are completely sold out.

I think they should cut the price of the PS3 around the same time Killzone 2 and MGS4 are released next year so more people can buy PS3's.
