PSP-Slim (PSP-2000) Roll Call
Intro:
I thought it might be nice to have an actual roll call thread, where everyone who's gotten a psp-slim can let everyone else know just how lucky/cool/awesome/insert adjective they are. Maybe relate their experiences, troubles, questions, what have you. This thread's also meant for general info, reviews, etc., all regarding the PSP-Slim.
Anyway, you can make multiple selections on the poll if you've more than one type of psp-slim.
PSP Accessory Reviews:
If you'd like to write a review for a PSP-Slim Accessory, please feel free to do so. I'll go ahead and link your post here, so that others can find it more easily throughout this thread. Heck, even reviews for the PSP-Slim itself won't be turned down.I'd like to turn this thread into one dedicated to the Slim and all things related, so that others can find the information they need more easily. So again, feel free to contribute!

Stuck-Pixel Fixer Programs
Please keep in mind that these programs will only be able to affect stuck pixels, not dead pixels. A stuck pixel is a pixel stuck in a single color variant, such as red, blue, green, and white. A black pixel is a dead pixel; sorry, but again, these programs can't help with that.
This said, using these programs does not guarantee success. A stuck pixel might be fixed after an hour of using these programs, or it could take up to several hours. Stuck pixels might fix themselves after a period of time. The fact is, nobody knows for certain, and your stuck pixel may never right itself or be fixed. The best thing to do is cross your fingers and be patient.
EPILEPSY WARNING: Please be aware that many of these videos are of rapidly flashing colors, which can induce epileptic seizures! You've been warned!

For Those Lucky Enough to Have a Limited Edition PSP-Slim Variant:
If you're one of the lucky few, please feel free to share that with us! Especially if your unit is a numbered edition, please tell us where you stand in the ranks. (Example: the FFVII:CC PSP is limited to 77,777 units.)
Imported PSP Notes:
There are a few things to keep in mind if you're importing a different-region PSP.
Games:
At this point in time, there are no regional limitations with games, so you don't have to be concerned with compatibility.
Ex: A JP PSP game will play on a PAL region PSP.
Movies:
Movies are region-specific, so you can only use UMDs region coded for your particular PSP.
Ex: NA PSPs can only play Region 1 UMD movies.
All Else should work the same as your own region's PSP (music, downloads, etc.), unless there are region specific abilities.
_.::IMPORTANT::._
When upgrading new firmware, remember that it is highly recommended by Sony that you only download the firmware for that particular PSP's region. If you've a Japanese PSP, for example, they strongly suggest that you not download the NA firmware update.
Doing so may cause irreversible damage to your PSP, and you may very well VOID the warranty!
If you're interested in downloading the Japanese update, click here. (Sorry, I don't speak or read Japanese, so you'll have to decipher it yourself. I recommend a translation site such as www.freetranslation.com. If someone does have a direct link to the right page, please let me know so that I can update this.)
If You Do Wish to Download Other-Region Updates...
That said, I will add that I, owning an import, have not had any issues with NA updates, and have successfully (so far as I can tell) downloaded and installed the NA firmware update v3.71.
Read on if you'd like to know the process I followed:
Having a Japanese imported, FFVII:CC PSP, I first downloaded the older firmware update, v3.70, from this site. (I couldn't find it at the playstation site, so if anyone else has a link to it, that would be even better.)
As some may know, v3.70 was the JAPANESE version of the software. Afterwards, I downloaded the NA firmware update v.3.71 here, then ran it (with my fingers crossed).
My PSP handled the NA update and came out unbricked and working fine.
I have yet to attempt updating through a UMD, so I'll just have to wait until I get a late enough game before I can let you all know the outcome. (Unless someone can report it first.)
According to soldier one, you cannot go from one region firmware update to the same version for a different region . For example, if you have the Japanese firmware update 3.71, you cannot then switch to the NA v.3.71. You'll have to wait until the next firmware update.

I hope I don't have to remind you, but DON'T read the translation if you don't want the game spoiled for you. Translations are courtesy of hitokiri007.
If you want to compile it all and print it out, it's roughly 21 pages with 8.5 font. That's a lot, but the story's really good.
==============================================
As for me, I finally received my FFVII:CC PSP last night. I was thrilled to get it and it's very beautiful. Everything works great, especially what with it being an import, and I can't wait to see what I can and can't do.
Actually, there is one minor downer in the whole thing: one blue, stuck pixel.
Thankfully it's on the very leftmost edge of the screen, so I downloaded a stuck-pixel fixing program and I've my fingers crossed that it will do the trick. If it doesn't, well...I'll just have to suck it up.
Other than that, I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

//The PSP-Slim Roll Call Thread\\ General Info, Reviews, and Anything PSP-Slim
TRUE STORY||Talisman once bet NASA they could survive re-entry without a spacesuit. On July 19th, 1999, a naked Talisman re-entered the earth's atmosphere, streaking over 14 states and reaching a temperature of 3000 degrees. An embarrassed NASA publically claimed it was a meteor, and still owes Talisman a beer.
