So you're saying this could be another special and not an official price drop?

Its very possible.. It could be like a 2 week sale because stores will be getting a lot of PS3's in and they want them to sell, but I couldn't tell you. If I worked at a major game dealer like EB or even Wal-Mart I'd know a lot more about it.

Probably the 20GB hard drive. I dont think Sony would sell a 60+ for under 500.

    It's Just a Special Offer

Did you guys even check the source? It clearly says Wal-Mart Anniversary Celebration 9/28. This is not a Sony price cut, it's just a 1 DAY SALE!!!

As for the deal itself, I must admit it's a pretty good price. Definitely a good opportunity for potential PS3 buyers.

The old CAD vs USD joke is pretty much dead. CAD actually closed higher than the USD two days ago for the first time in 30 years.

To the person saying Costco Canada has the PS3 for 399; can you elaborate on where/when you saw that? I ask because I shop at Costco a lot and have never seen that price. Not in their warehouses nor on their web site.

It's better than $599, but $50 won't make any dramatic changes.

True, but it's about time we didn't have to pay more than the US does.

Joke of the day for sure... Guess you are unaware the CDN dollar went on par recently.... and still hovers between slightly under and slightly over the US dollar

Hmmm, could this be a factor in future pricing for Canada?

Edit: guess I once again pulled the trigger too fast after reading ONQ's post... Seems alot pointed it out to him

Yep. Right now with the exchange rate the way it is, everything is pretty much cheaper to buy in the US for Canadian consumers.

    It worked it seems...lol

It does make me wonder if Walmart is adjusting their CDN prices according to the exchange rate... If that's the case, Walmart will be the place to shop for electronics in general (for Canadians that is).

Suuurre, we know you people from the US Carolinas don't have maps to help know where Africa and Iraq people understand currency exchange rates

Nice try though! But don't worry, I don't have an idea of how many Mountain Dew bottlecaps you need to exchange for a Nascar ticket so we are even.

you mean that US green back that is worth .01Cents more then the Canada Loonie?? that real money? last i checked we were on Par with the USD and will probably be moving past the green back unless things change.
so yeah the price you see is the price it is Canadian or American.

i would guess that the high value of the loonie has a big part in this price drop.
