FIFA freezes my PS3

This is my first thread and its not a happy one for me.
Yesterday i bought FIFA 08 and when i play on it my PS3 freezes
sometimes it freezes on the loading screens and sometimes when it saves data to the hard drive.
Is anyone else getting this problem or is it just me.
This has only happened with FIFA and no other games so i believe it is a software issue, but im not an expert.

Im not sure if this is the right section to put this in.

So you play FIFA on your PC and your both your PC and PS3 freezes? That's pretty odd. Usually when my PC freezes it has nothing to do with my PS3 and vice versa.

Actually I'm serious. You wrote your problem and titled your problem in such a way that it is unclear. Is this for your PC (and thus the question YOU posed about being in the right place and you referred to 'my computer') or is this for your PS3 as the title suggests?

It is my ps3 that freezes when i play fifa on it.

I have the problem with Madden sometimes, and only Madden. It must be an EA thing.

EA Freeze. It's in the game.

I hope it's not a widespread problem as I'm looking forward to buy a copy of my own pretty soon. Judging from the unrelated feedback to this thread though, it doesn't seem that way.

Just take you're game back to the shop and exchange it for another copy.

Ive had 1 freeze so far and it was at the end of a game and i selected to see who was man of the match.

Ive had a few probs with online games tho were i have had to reset the ps3 about 3 times now, it happens during loading up the game the bit were you should practice your skills against the keeper, ive had 3 black screens at that point.

fifa came out friday ,,, and i am having same problems going take my copy back tomorrow and getting new copy apart from that problem games brill

Getting a new copy will bring you the same problem no matter what. Everyone is getting them I m sure, not often but it does happen.

I had twice in what 3-4 days.

Happened to me 2 times since i got it on Thursday, once when i was loading a match and one when i was creating a players, screen doesnt go black though, music still plays, just no buttons will work.

I hav had the same problems with EA stuff, Madden 07, 08, now FIFA. The only thing that I can tell you is save often, especially doing lots of franshise functions. That's what I'm forced to do.

So is there any point in taking my copy back to the shop to exchange it or will the next one do the same thing?

im having the problem almost before every other match i play one its fine next one freezes then next one fine next one freezes really pissing me off :@

I guess there is no point as you can see everyone is getting them including myself.

Is this problem a widespread one and is it gauranteed to happen?

I'm going to buy FIFA 08 but if the game has a problem like this one then I won't buy it.

iv also had the same problems , not gonna take it back i think it is an EA problem and they will release a patch and it will come with 2.0 and that will be sometime in the year 2007/8/9ad.

If EA needs to patch their software (as in the game itself) they'll release a patch independent of any firmware release - unless of course the bug is caused by issues with the current firmware. I won't buy this game until a patch is released though. Too bad though seing as I really wanted this game
