Skate Online Lag

I just got the game last night and I played a few online matches, but all of them were very laggy and it was hard to make out anyone with a mic. I have a great connection so i was just wondering if you have been to any matches with almost no lag and non-muffled voices b/c it's annoying the crap out of me. Warhawk does online well, I'm just trying to see if there are any rooms that run smoothly or are they all laggy.

i read somewhere that if one person is lagging in skate, the whole lot suffers the effects.

lol, its alright to be confused....I was baffled at first as well. EA....actually made a quality game. I play my buddy online and we both have a good connection. Tho my headset broke a couple of weeks ago and thus, haven't had a chance to check out the voice communication. but yeah....good game + EA = strange stuff

I have the 360 version, but yeah it lags like crazy. I don't think I have experienced an online game in Skate that was running smoothly; EA should sort it out.

At least I dont lag when I am doing my tricks, i have a feeling that this is a problem with the game and not anyones connection

Lag = yes.

Mic issues = I've heard everyone perfectly... dunno why you're having issues.

I haven't had a whole lot of lag when playing online but maybe because I've mostly played the spot battles and you guys might be refering to something that involves multiple people at one time like jam or freeskate.

The mic support has been good but I did have a problem where three people were mic'ed and two of us couldn't hear each other and the other person could hear all of us if that makes sense. Might have been a user problem though because it has only happened to me once.

i was hearing about the lag and i thought nothing of it because when i played it ran really smooth....then i tried playing online, and i couldn't even take satisfaction in winning all those games of skate because it was so annoying.

I'm afraid to play online, because I will be that one guy that causes the game to lag with my 768K DSL connection. I would like to play and see what it's like, but everytime I've tried to play an online game, I've had problems. I'm having so much fun offline right now anyways. This game rocks!

the lag is pretty bad, but I've only played one real laggy game. The worst part I though was the mic connection. All I heard was cracking noises.

But u don't have to play online, the career mode is really fun, but difficult.

Hey now! dont knock the 768... Okay I havent played Skate online yet but I've yet to really experience much difficulty at all online with PS3.

really? Hmm, I've tried on one or two occasions, but I also had a lot of disconnection problems early on with this system... like before the download management update. I haven't had much of those lately since the newer updates, so maybe I should give it a try.

I played alot of games that weren't laggy or anything wrong with them, then on the other hand I played games where everyone mics were just making cracking sounds and i couldnt even play it was so bad.

The only issues I've ever really experienced lately were with voice/video chat. it randomly drops out from time to time without warning forcing me to re-sign-in but other wise if I'm playing a game I never drop out. Not sure what causes the drops but that's the only time it every happens to me that can't be linked to the game servers.

I used to have issues trying to go online wirelessly I'd drop out several times before I got into a waiting room but once in the game it wouldnt drop at all, until I got out and then I got dropped constantly until I started a new game. But I quit bothering to use Wireless for internet since a wired connection is faster and just use wireless to communicate with the my PSP now.
