GT5 (thus far) Absolute Trash

I am a huge racing fan both in real life and video games. I have pretty much played every single racing game that has touched a playstation (one,2, and 3) and PC for over the last ten years. Let me also say that I am a huge PS3 fan and support it whole heartedly. All of this said, GT5 is a piece of ****. The game is GT 2.5 at best. The physics, sounds (dear ****ing god are the sounds FX pathetic) and AI are just god awful. The only thing remotely next gen about this game are the graphics, which although nice, don't mean **** at the end of the day when it comes to a racing game. Yes accurate track recreations are key and the Nordscheliefe for GT4 was the only redeeming thing in the entire game. But for ****s sake people, GT has done nothing, nothing to improve on their product other than graphics, more cars and bull**** new options such as photo mode, B-Spec and who knows how many new worthless options in the future. Racing Sims (I no longer consider GT a sim) for ages have had in car views and as far as I can tell, the in car view is the only new addition worth mentioning for GT5. It is in 1080p! Great, but it is boring as all hell. You can still smash in to AI cars that are on rails with no penalty, the physics are laughable and the sound fx are identical to GT1. I would love to hear anyone defend this piece of rubbish they are calling GT5. This game is an insult to cars, racing sims, and video game enthusiast in general. I would take 4 ok tracks 10 ok cars and a spot on physics engine and AI for graphics any day. Have fun with the Real (looking) driving simulator. I am done. I will not purchase GT5. I am so ****ing fed up with this game. There are so many other quality racing games out there. If someone wants to actually play a racing game, buy GTR2. The first five seconds of driving any car on any track in that game will blow your mind.

I am mad because the GT franchise has had so much god **** potential and generation after generation they keep touting themselves as the high and mighty racing game and they just don't deliver anything new. I didn't even finish a race in GT5 Prologue because it was just down right boring. There has to be someone else out there who is as sad and disappointed as I am.

PS- I know it is a beta version but if you think there are going to be any major changes to it in terms of sound, AI, and physics you are delusional.

Try changing the simulation mode to Professional. I too thought it wasn't very different from GT4 until I did that.

You're not going to get completely realistic car physics in the GT5 Prologue Demo. It's an unfinished game that won't be out for at least another year. However, in Professional simulation mode, the cars handle much more realistically, and the bumper-car physics are, for the most part, gone.

Well I HATED GT before I played GTHD and GT5:P, Something about them sparked my interest, now I can't wait for it. I love it. It's absolutely mind blowing. If a game can change my mind like that, then it is definitely a success not a P.O.S.! Gran Turismo 5 FTW... wth is GTR anyway?

I thought the demo was good, but I hope they eventually release some more cars, because although the selection right now is good, I wish they put in a Ferrari or two, just to see what they look like in the game.

Why in the BLOODY HELL is it ok for a demo to receive endless, and blind praise, but it's not cool to say anything bad about said demo?

NEWSFLASH: Impressions should be honest. Demo or not, if there's something about a demo or full game that sucks, a blind eye should not be turned to it! Those of you that denounce honest complaints can go ahead and stagnate being satisfied with mediocrity. I remember the same thing when anyone would voice their complaints about the Warhawk beta freezing or any of the numerous glitches that plagued it. People like you are the very reason why problems are overlooked, because you try to drown out anyone with a keen eye as a result of your childish fanaticism. People like you are the reason we get re-hashed, crap like Madden year in and year out, because all you ever wanna do is settle for mediocrity and cry and moan when someone points out something that could be better.

i'm glad it's the same thing, but improved! If they messed around with the formula too much, it wouldn't be GT... GT1 made me buy the original PS, and seeing gt:hd on my LCD made me buy a ps3 (mate brought his over to show it off, bye bye $$$)

Couldn't of said it better. I respect the OPs opinion for what it is. I haven't played the game yet because the demo hasn't been released in the U.S yet. I'm just hoping its better than Forza2. I know thats a tall order but it is coming out over a year after it so it better be. I guess the demo will give me a good idea where this franchise is going.
