I dunno what section to put this in, so I am putting it here.

This is a list of PS3 games that support the in game-custom soundtracks. I will need help to complete it, so all, and any help would be nice.


Games that Support in-game XMB custom soundtracks


Motorstorm: Pacific Rift

PixelJunk Eden* - Upon completion of the game, this feature is unlocked.

PixelJunk Monsters* - Newest patch allows custom soundtracks.

WipEout HD

High Velocity Bowling* - Newest Patch allows for custom soundtracks.

Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 1

Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2

Killzone 2* - Multiplayer only.

Street Fighter IV

Midnight Club L.A.

Warhawk* - After update, includes custom soundtracks.

Ferrari Challenge* - After latest update.

Nova Strike

Rock Band 2* - Only during Menus.

Games that support Custom soundtracks through a workaround:

Burnout: Paradise* - After 1.3 patch, use d-pad menu to select songs on PS3.

Super Stardust HD* - After patch, in options screen, select custom soundtrack

PAIN* - After patch select Pain jukebox to allow for custom soundtracks.

MLB 08 The Show* - Activated through menus.

NCAA 09* - You can set what song to play after a touchdown.

Pro Evolution 2009* - You need to name a playlist on your PS3, only works for menus and replays.

Shaun White Snowboarding* - In playlist mode you can use custom soundtracks.

Supersonic Acrobat Battle Cars* - Via options menu.

MLB 09 The Show* - Activated through Menus

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009* - Via menus

I can confirm that MLB08 supports custom music, but not through the XMB. It's done in the menus of the game. I'm pretty sure MLB09 will use the same idea.

I can confirm that Midnight Club LA has this feature. It works the way it's supposed to, you just hit the XMB button, go into the XMB, select the song, and it just plays over the game.

ncaa 09 only like when you score a touchdown you can set it for anything no just touchdown pretty gay if i may say so

Yes, there is a post by HardlePS3 in his official SFIV thread, go to the last page, then keep going back one page to find the youtube video he posted of the proof.

You should add to Street Fighter 4:

Limited custom soundtracks. (You are unable to listen to your own music when playing online.)

Pro Evo 2009 supports custom soundtracks for the menus and replays. You have to create a playlist, and name it specifically so the game can find it. Then go to the settings menu and distribute the songs to each menu.

Can't remember off the top of my head what you have to name the playlist, but am sure it can easily be looked up. Also, the files have to be mp3 or the game can't read them.

Forgot to mention, you can also add your own crowd chants in Pro Evo 2009.

Why is it so hard to get custom soundtracks to PS3 games?! I mean, for example, the 360 version of Skate 2 had it, but the PS3 version didnt! Whatever, glad that I own Burnout: Paradise, at least one game that has it...

That's the thing, Microsoft patented custom soundtracks, and Sony found a loophole, which means that the developers have to include it themselves.

Thus, not as many PS3 games have custom soundtracks.
