I am excited about posting this news regardless of itīs authenticity. The mere thought alone brings shivers down my spine.
I was just talking to someone closely involved with GG earlier today, and I was asking him about the co-op patch for Killzone 2, and this is what he said.
"They [GG] are really kicking themselves because of that. They have a handful of developers working on updates, and patches for Killzone 2, but I doubt weīll see co-op patch. The problem is the seamless loading. Cross console synching seems to be an issue - but from what I gather the key developers of Killzone 2 are working on a new project."
I asked him if he was referring to Killzone 3, and he said.
"Ahh, well - I canīt say for sure, but it seems very likely. They have a team working on writing up algorithms, and modifying the Killzone 2 engine, and a select few working on a story."
I have a good feeling about this. It is my guess that they are trying to make the game co-op comtapible, otherwise why would they be focusing on writing algorithms?
He told me that he is expecting GG to go public with this before the end of the year - so all I can say is keep your eyes open!
Sounds good. Let's just hope that there will still be some good support for KZ2 around that time.
The team working on updates, and batches, are dedicated. They wonīt stop supporting Killzone 2 - even after the release of Killzone 3 (which wont be for awhile anway), so rest assured.
I have faith behind the team who created Killzone 2. They seem to have put their great dedication on upping the game with updates, add-ons, well fine maintenance, etc. Something I kinda admire of from them.
Get ready for another one hell of a roller coaster ride for the next installment of the Killzone series.

Game currently playing: Fallout 3 and FFVII Thoughts about the game so far:Mothership Zeta was awesome
i just want a killzone 2 patch not a whole new game i dont wanna go out and buy another after 5 years of amking killzone 2
and i want split screen that would get my friends to buy it
that was inevitable i mean with the success of killzone 2 they were always going to go for the third part....the only question was when hopefully we'll see killzone 3 by the end of next year....that would be cool....nd its also cool how they have set up a dedicated team to support killzone 2 with patches, add ons etc.....
Great News, I kinda figured they would be working on their next game. If its Killzone 3 then they need to work in some sort of Co-op and since they already have an incredible engine to run it maybe it will only be 2 years to make the sequel.
^^ well we would of assumed sooner rather than later
and i would sill like co-op and split screen in killzone 2 i dont think they need a killzone 3 yet
Thoroughly enjoying Killzone 2. I would expect this to be released in 2011 then. It's a reasonable timescale now they've got the experience with the system, and the engine up and running.
whoa oh bejeezus that is exciting news, hey guys im an avid ps3 fan doo not get me wrong, but are do you guys think this is weird or are you more just jealous of the fact im still yet to play exclusives like metal gear solid, killzone 2, motorstorm
It's fairly obvious that there will be a KZ3 and that it will be co-op. Console FPS's need co-op, otherwise they are boring. Thankfully, now GG already has their incredible engine (just needs a bit of modding to allow co-op) the sequel shouldn't take half as long as KZ2 to make.

NO!!!!
Thats bad, because this happened last time, and everyone was disapointed that it was delayed and delayed. Announce when ready. Also, isn't it too early all ready? They have started to work on the stroy, and modifying the engine, so they won't be able to get anything amazing out before the end of the year.
