Modern Warfare 2 scoops ELSPA double-platinum award

The PlayStation 3 version of Infinity Ward shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has scooped up double-platinum award from the folks at ELSPA for shifting over 600,000 copies in the UK.
Released on November 10, the critically acclaimed sequel debuted at the top of the UK All Format Charts on launch and has remained there ever since, despite sales this past week declining by 32 percent.
According to Infinity Ward, the first batch of downloadable content for the game should be with us by spring 2010. Those of you who have yet to hop on the Modern Warfare 2 bandwagon should check out our review to see what you’re missing out on.

I agree with #5 and 7. I am bored with this game too (don't even play it any more). To be honest, this game wasn't even that great in my opinion........In Fact, Im bored with FPS games in general......waiting for FFXIII........something different for once. Plus, Uncharted 2 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better that MW 2......If it was up to me, Uncharted 2 would be the game making these sales figure instead of MW 2.

This game may be over rated but it is the best COD out right now and the only one that I actually enjoyed playing if you take it slow you can beat it in a few day or one if your a hardcore gamer. As far as FPS this a good one. I"m sure that most people that have a PS3 didn't get it for that as the only fps I own on my ps3 is borderlands lol. and I have about 30 some games.

I can't see how people are able to continue to play the same game repeatedly with a different title. Aside from the first COD, every subsequent chapter has been uneventful and boring for me. It's always just the same old boring swill with the same coloured shirt on. The only difference is that the emblem on the shirt has a numerical value added.
Uncharted on the other hand is a series that offers great adventures with a variation in landscapes and storylines without the autonomic boring militaristic characters. Even when the story gets "emotional" within COD games, those moments are anti-climactic because of the lack of depth.

eighteen. haha..i personally think that modern warfare 2 is a great game, the problem for me is that there are alot of campers.. i say on cod4 theres hardly any camping goin on..

Of course THIS means that every game released by Activision from now on,will rip off Brits because these sales figures clearly show that they have no problem with being ripped off.

£45 wasn't a rip off for me. I've already done over 2 days online (good considering I'm not a saddo without a job etc that just plays games and lives off benefits)
So it'll easily pay itself back and is going to be doing so for a long time.

I'm too busy playing uncharted 2 and tekken 6, plus I don't have enough money to buy myself another game. I'll just wait a while to buy it!

great game but when is the map pack gonna come? if they dont come out with a map pack 4 it i wouldnt reccomend it cause u will get bored of online play within a few weeks
