Altair to return in Assassin's Creed 2?

Ubisoft animation director David Wilkinson has hinted in a recent interview that the company is working on a sequel to the highly successful Assassin's Creed, which will apparently mark the return of Altair in some capacity.
While extolling the works of fellow animator Alex Drouin, who previously worked on titles such as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the original Assassin’s Creed, Wilkinson commented:
"He's busy making Altair even more beautiful. Last thing I saw him do was getting Altair to swim."

Although the notion of Assassin’s Creed 2 is entirely conceivable in itself, we’ve still yet to hear official confirmation on the matter, though Wilkinson’s comments nonetheless provide an intriguing insight as to what the company has up its sleeves.
We’ll keep you posted on any developments.

Bring it on. It's a nice diversion from all the shooters und racing titles, or combined released as gta4 and sr2. It can't hurt to have some RPGs or Stealth games once in a while.

T-Dogg400, Assassins creed ended in a cliff hanger. They need to finish the story.
I for one, am hoping that part two, starts off with an action packed escape.

I would hope that there will be a sequel to Assassins Creed. The end of the first game really left me hanging. I was more interested in the Altair story when I first started playing the game, but by the end of it, I was more engrossed in the Desmond story! I hope they release another one, sans the repetition that the original introduced.

Hopefully they won't release this one until they remove ALL the freezing issues the first one had. Also, it would be nice if they sped up the loading times... and let you just start playing right away instead of having to listen to mister master assassin give you your mission... that was gay...

the first one was to over hype for a game that have you doing the same thing over and over, Major dull fest after 45 mins of game play. Hope they make this one different and let us do different things.

@11 i would too, but i like Soul Reaver a bit better than Blood Omen, and with Raziel dead and absorbes into the physical Soul Reaver sword (is that what the sword is called? i can't recall) im not sure how it could continue..well Kain could do something, i cannot remember the reason Raziel put himself in front of the Physical blade, Kain was not happy that it struck Raziel..but what was the reason
ON TOPIC: i enjoyed the gameplay of Assassins Creed. but the same thing over and over again got to me by the end, i finished it purly because of the actual assassinations and the fighting (thought really easy to master and basically become invincable) was actually kind of cool and fun to watch. Also the story was cool, i wished it was portrayed in a different way or more seperated in time, switching back and forth EVERY dream kind of kept you from getting to connected

it was a good game with some noticeable flaws, but it was still good... now, if they fix those flaws for the next installment then it's going to be great. Looking fwd to it.

AC had a really gripping story and idea behind it...i would love to see Ubisoft expand on those ideas and improve actual gameplay, but i think now that devs have had more experience with next gen tech they will do it justice, (they had better.) P.S loved the Parkour though XD

as a game, I LOVED IT! but was it what ubisoft promised.....NO!!.... They made it up to be some awesome, do whatever you want when you want, in any order, then they basically spoon feed you the whole way....

I really like Assassins Creed, Even though it was very repetitive. But i think ubisoft will take from the reviews and fix it for Assassins Creed 2. Also i am looking foward to swimming. Plus more and realistic blood, more combos, and more customization would be a nice feature for Assassins Creed 2

For Assassin's 2 they should try and make this one NOT SUCK BALLS as the first one was a hunk of garbage

The fact that it was played as a virtual flashback from the future just kills the chance for Assassin's Creed 2 to be a good game. If they had kept the futuristic aspects out of the game and just kept it about the past it would've been a much better game.

at Stevie (#3).... I think you are right. Remember they said that the more memories that became active... the "current" person became more like the person in the past. I personally believe that the story needs to be finished and from what I understand... they left the first installment as they did so they could continue the story. It will be a definite buy for me. The game was beautiful with a great story.

OMG YES! I loved the first AC, sure it got a bit boring but the storylines really kept you into the game.
I'm sure they'll add some more funner features and that this one won't be near as repetitive.

Glad I rented and didn't buy, the first one was a snoozer after the beginning. I understand stealth, but I can't be wasting a half hour of gaming just to slink through a big town unnoticed. Last time I checked, riding your horse with your head up through ancient Jerusalem alone was not a crime. If they make another one they better try adding some action and subtracting the boredom.
