Awesome news. Hopefully this time PS3 users won't get shafted with Exclusive 360 DLC. I'm really angry about us not getting GTA: Lost and Damned.

after playing GTA IV which has to be one of the most over rated games I have played I am not really looking forward to this game. hopefully they will go back to the roots of the series and make the game fun again like all the PS2 versions of GTA were.

Whats the 5 in roman numerals doing there?
Its using the GTA4 engine so it will be called GTA: insert name here.
We wont see GTA5 until they make a new engine which will most likely be next gen.

If this is true, i would question the depth the game will have. Unless this was being developed alongside gta4 or being worked on by twice the amount of developers compared to a normal game, i dont think it would be that good. They set the benchmark for depth in this genre with gta4. They wouldnt release a game that doesnt better it in depth would they? Either way i preffered them when they were fun, now they just feel like life simulations. I want to see gta : gang wars. Do the things that they did in san andreas but on a larger scale and more in depth. Online with that would be fun.

I will be getting it, i didn't mind the last one except for the annoying cell phone calls and hangin out with friends parts (they weren't too bad to me though). the visuals (though they weren't the greatest) and overall animations and feel of Liberty City changed for the better IMO, i was very impressed and i could only imagine what they could do if they took full advantage of Blu-ray (bastards should of stayed PS exclusive). there were hints of Vice City and San Andreas within GTA4 so i wouldn't be surprised if they do Vice City again but in next gen form (hopefully modern day too) that would be stunning.

even though i think GTA 4 sux i would be liying if i said i'm not waiting for the next GTA. as for 360's GTA 4 DLC in my opinion M$ went two out of three GTA 4 and Tomb Raider both sux DLC wont change the game. so i'm not mad and dont care about there DLC
the next city they should do is CHI-TOWN CHICAGO OR THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE PHILDELPHIA

A San Andreas version of GTA IV would just be great. After playing San Andreas if felt wierd being held to just one city in GTA IV. Would love to see them go back that way.

It could be possible if Rockstar would release next GTA only on one platform. Then all team behind GTA IV would concentrate on a new GTA and then it could be possible.
I'm 100% sure Rockstar is already working on next big GTA. Despite both X360 DLCs and Chinatown Wars. But I more believe it will be 2010 fall release.
And I hope for SanAndreas location returnment. The atmosphere of GTA SA was incredible, a lot better than GTA IV -

to come out end of 09 they seriously must be working there balls off ( and any other dangling extremeties) at rockstar. sure they have the game engine allready, but creating all the landscape & the research thats done for all of it is`nt done overnight. I reckon March 2010 (end of business year).
bring back the planes !! & fuel flaps on the cars to blow up ! :)

It would be great if they came out and said its PS3 exclusive cause the 360 cant handle it, I dont think they would though. Although so many people call iv overated it was us, the press and all the pundits NOT Rockstar that hyped it, to me its a great game with load to do yeah sure I would like more to do but if a whole new one is round the corner then great s0d the downloadable content. They (Rockstar) would have solved the major hurdles during the development of iv and 18 months of development is a reasonable amount of time to have a new storyline and to have done all the map development, the core reaserch guys who created Liberty City from New York most likely started 2 years ago on the next city/state/country who knows though only time will tell.

I bought GTA IV a week after it was released last year. I somehow lost my copy and didn't want to buy a new one, a few days ago I found it lol, and when I got the platinum for CoD WaW I needed something else to do, so today I played GTA IV for the first time! And no I didn't have high expectations, and yes I have played GTA II, III and San Andreas, but if think IV rocks! One of the best games of 08 in my opinion. Beats the crap out of San Andreas for sure. And it even has trophies, damn I'm having a great time going through it :D

i find this a little... a lot... extremely hard to believe. i mean the sheer scale of a gta game should make this impossible unless they re-use liberty city and just insert new missions. but i would be extremely pleased if this rumor turned out to be true.

I wish they'd do one set in the late 60's/early 70's. That way you'd have a bunch of cool old muscle cars and the best music ever made. You'd have a bunch of crazy hippies and militant groups, like The Weather Underground, Black Panthers, SLA, labor unions, the mob, etc. You could play as some war hero that just got back from Nam and is brought into a life of crime, kind of like Dead Presidents. You got this time period that was filled with drug use and political upheaval and violence and yet nobody wants to touch it. You didn't have street gangs like you have now, but you had people back then doing revolutionary stuff instead of just criminal stuff. You still had the mob doing their thing too. It would be really controversial if one of the missions were where you had to assassinate some politician, but that stuff happened back then. Unless they do something like this, or do a sequel to Vice City still set in the 80's, I don't think I'll get it. I'm just burnt out on the whole modern day street gang type of thing.

Vice City is, and always will be, the best GTA. They've revamped Liberty City from III into IV, so it's only fitting they reiterate VC into an updated version as well. Make it so... And don't forget: almost a year before San Andreas, R* trademarked 5 GTA locations. San Andreas(of course), and 3 of the others were: Sin City, Tokyo and Bogota. Can't remember the last one.

Im hoping it will be somewhere more varied.
San andreas was incredible because you had country side, lots of oceans, city and beach.
The ;ast GTA was pretty much just city.
I also think the absence of planes was a big mistake.
I say bring back San Andreas and the harrier :D

Personally, I don't think it's just rumor. Like the article pointed out, Vice City came out a year after GTA3, and pretty much used the same engine. San Andreas pretty much used the same engine as well, albeit more modified and versatile than VC.
I hope whatever the next GTA is, it's more like San Andreas. Heck, I wouldn't mind if they just went and REMADE San Andreas with GTA 4's engine; all the story and voice work's done already. :)
I've been a die hard GTA fan since I played GTA 3 at a friend's house years ago, and was let down with GTA 4. The story was boring, and I had been expecting a product on par with San Andreas.

Any company that would sell exclusive DLC on a multiplatform game, is a company that I have absolutely no respect for.

Unless it really gets some good press I won't be bothering ... I'll just watch the videos of people complaining abouti it on you tube.
They should have stayed loyal to Sony. It would be funny if they ditched the 360 on this one. If they did then I'd buy it no matter how bad it is!!!
