Speaking at its conference at the Leipzig Games Convention today, Activision announced that the forthcoming Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will receive a global simultaneous release from November 5th, 2007.
This discredits earlier reports of a European launch on November 9th, with the game now hitting North American and European territories for next-generation consoles on the same day.
Having already received multiple awards, including Best Action Game by the Game Critics Awards, Call of Duty 4 is among one of the most highly anticipated releases for PlayStation 3 this year. The game is completely disparate of the World War II setting of previous instalments, instead opting to base in the action in a more contemporary modern setting. Players will explore a variety of highly-detailed battle zones set across numerous warn torn environments, waging war with a number of devastating weaponry and equipment.
