PS3 Wins Award For High Definition Design

23 August 2007

The PlayStation 3 picked itself up a new award with its sleek look. The innovative marvel was recognized by the European Imaging and Sound
Association (EISA), winning the European Media Centre category.

The judging panel was extremely confident in their decision, and felt that Sony's console was top notch for the center of the media household---a goal Sony has strong hopes for. “Sony’s PS3 is a wonderful example of a powerful media centre, thanks to its inclusion of an audio-video-photo player as well as a web browser to navigate, download, play and chat on the Internet,” the panel said.

They interestingly enough stated something else. Not only did they love the hard disk, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and four USB ports, but particularly loved the Blu-ray drive.

“However, the most important function of the PS3 is the built-in Blu-ray disc player, which also reads DVD, CD and Super Audio CD, as well as embracing the new surround sound formats. Top-notch 1080/24p resolution is available from Bluray Discs via a HDMI Ver.1.3 interface with x.v.Color; better still, the PS3 up-converts any DVD movie to 1080p resolution and it accommodates users who prefer to use a traditional remote control," said the experts.

Apparently, Sony's console not only appeals for the best console as center of home entertainment, but is the only console capable of it. It fuses the wants of the consumers, while bringing a new design to the mix.
