PSN crisis: Sony evaluating goodwill gesture for patient users

on 29 April 2011

Careful not to use the word “compensation,” Sony today announced it is looking into different ways to offer a goodwill gesture for the millions of patient PlayStation Network users.

After a “malicious attack” on the PSN, Sony pulled the plug on the service last week. Since then, PSN users have questioned whether they will receive any compensation from Sony, and while there is no official program in place, the company is not ruling it out.

“We are currently evaluating ways to show appreciation for your extraordinary patience as we work to get these services back online,” a Sony rep wrote on the PlayStation Blog. Sony Online Entertainment is also working on a “make good” plan for players of the PlayStation 3 versions of DC Universe Online and Free Realms.

What do you think is an appropriate goodwill gesture from Sony?
