2K Games has extended its licensing deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA) which will see the publisher continue to produce games based on the sport for the foreseeable future.
The future of the NBA 2K series of videogames, which began in 1999, was secured as a direct result of the success of NBA 2K11, which sold over 5m units since its release in October 2010. The new deal will also see 2K explore other avenues for the franchise, including online and social media platforms.
