Namco Bandai and From Software have confirmed that Dark Souls has shipped 1.5 million units globally since its launch in early October.
The brutal RPG shipped 620,000 units in North America, 470,000 units in Europe and 370,000 units in Japan. Asia follows with 40,000 units shipped.
As the spiritual successor to 2009’s critically acclaimed PlayStation 3-exclusive Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls is a dungeon crawler set against a sumptuously detailed fantasy backdrop, featuring new spells, weapons and classes. The game is even said to be tougher than its predecessor, which is no easy task to say the least.
