Bandits steal 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 from french courier

Two armed men have successfully snagged themselves over 6,000 copies of Activision’s latest Call of Duty iteration, it what appears to be a well planned heist, just a few days removed from its global launch.

The two men, armed with knives and tear gas, rolled-over a courier van transporting the copies of the anticipated shooter, just a mere 10 kilometres outside of Paris, France. After the driver and occupants exited the vehicle, the two men drove away in the van with the cargo.

In a report made by French authorities, they estimate the stolen goods are worth at least 400,000 Euros.

This incident bears some similarity to last year’s Call of Duty release, where two men stole over 100 copies of Black Ops from a GameStop in Bel Air, Maryland.

Could we expect to see this sort of thing year after year? Do you think these criminal acts will extend to other anticipated games? Let us know in the comments below.
