Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has said his company expects Respawn Entertainment’s debut project to hit shelves in 2013 – potentially cannibalizing sales of the next Call of Duty game in the process.
Speaking with GI.biz, Pachter commented, “Next year , another Battlefield plus Respawn and Bungie games probably cannibalise [sales of CoD] a bit more.”
Little has been said on the title, other than it is expected to take on a sci-fiction tone and will be published by Electronic Arts’ Partners label.
Respawn itself was established by Jason West and Vince Zampella, formally of Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward, back in 2010. The studio employs in the region of 60 individuals and is based in California, USA.
