Ubisoft has unveiled a slew of new info regarding Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation heroine Aveline.
As we’ve seen from various screenshots and videos, the female assassin – who hails from New Orleans – is kitted out in the traditional assassin’s clobber from the get-go. However, Ubisoft revealed that players can change her costume by visiting clothes shops dotted around the environment.
Players can have Aveline wear a variety of outfits, allowing her to masquerade as an aristocrat or even a servant girl. Depending on what you wear, you’ll be able to take advantage of new weapons and abilities.
For example, the aristocrat can circumvent combat by bribing or flirting with guards – though thanks to the costume’s restricting nature, you won’t be able to free-run or climb at all. Best of all, though, is the chance to wield an outlandish new weapon: a parasol that fires poisonous darts that induce death or madness.
Servants meanwhile can lug crates around to avoid detection and can even slip into guarded areas unmolested. Members of the public can be recruited to aid your progress, in a sort of all-against-the-oppressors mentality. Players can also blend with peasants and sweep the streets to avoid guards after eliminating a target.
Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation is due out exclusively on PlayStation Vita in October 2012.
