Bethesda has said that development of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s second chunk of downloadable content, Hearthfire, has not slowed down the release of the PlayStation 3 version of Dawnguard.
Hearthfire was unveiled yesterday for Xbox 360, though PS3 owners are still waiting patiently for the launch of the original expansion, Dawnguard.
However, writing on Twitter in response to a fan, marketing boss Pete Hines said that the company is “working on multiple projects, even beyond those two things. The entire team doesn’t work on one thing at a time.”
Hines was then asked of Dawnguard, “But is it going to be delayed because of Hearthfire being in development?” to which he replied: “No, they are separate things.”
Bethesda delayed the PS3 version of Vampire-centric expansion Dawnguard earlier this summer, citing concerns over ‘unsatisfactory’ quality. Many anticipated the DLC would launch for Sony's platform after Microsoft's 30-day exclusivity period had ended, which obviously failed to happen.
No further details are known at this point however. Stay tuned for more details as we get them.
