Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix developer Backbone Entertainment could shut up shop, reports IGN.
Industry sources claim that the North American-based studio is “making layoffs with talk of a complete shut down,” though a final decision has yet to be made. Attempts are being made to keep the company “going smaller.”
For those unaware, Backbone is part of Foundation 9, which also includes Double Helix Games, Pipeworks and Sumo Digital.
In addition to working on the critically acclaimed PlayStation Network/Xbox LIVE Arcade port of Capcom’s retro brawler, the studio has also cut its teeth on the likes of Wolf of the Battlefield: Command 3 and Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone.
