British actor Billy Murray – best known among gamers as the voice behind Captain Price in the Modern Warfare games – has apparently let the cat out of the bag on the next entry in Activision’s military shooter franchise.
That’s at least according to Jason Andrews of ThisisXbox.com, who bumped into Murray on a flight from Bodrum to London. In addition to posting a picture as proof of the encounter, Andrews also provided a snippet of his chinwag with Murray, who confirmed development of Modern Warfare 4:
“On Monday I am off to meet Infinity Ward about the next game, Modern Warfare 4, I’m doing work on the sequel to Modern Warfare 3, it carries straight on and I only ever appear in the Modern Warfare games…”
Activision has unsurprisingly declined to comment, though we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Murray has appeared in every Modern Warfare title to date since its inception with 2007’s Call of Duty 4, with his character Price frequently aiding the player in combat. In addition, he is also a prolific film and TV actor, having appeared in various popular U.K. productions such as EastEnders, The Bill, A Touch of Frost, Rise of the Foot Soldier and more.
This year’s Call of Duty title will be a sequel to Black Ops and is being handled by Treyarch. 2013’s effort is rumored to appear on both current and next-generation platforms, though little else has been revealed.
