According to Siliconera, Namco’s idiosyncratic roll-‘em-up Katamari Damacy is coming to the Japanese PlayStation Network this month.
The game will be re-released as a PlayStation 2 classic on November 21, priced at 1,200 yen (roughly $15.00).
Originally released in March 2004, Katamari Damacy is the brainchild of Keita Takahashi and involves gamers rolling an adhesive ball around the environment, picking up all sorts of objects along the way.
Labelled as a sleeper hit, the game didn’t see a release in Europe though picked up multiple awards, including ‘Excellent in Game Design’ at the 2005 Game Developers Choice Awards, and was also included in the May 2004 issue of Time Magazine.
A number of sequels followed, including We Love Katamari and Me & My Katamari.
