The team behind hit detective game, L.A. Noire, is working on a new game with a similar 1930's style, and according to some job postings, production should end in 2015. Whore of the Orient is a AAA title that's a "narrative action adventure, similar in genre to L.A. Noire," according to a Senior Engine Programmer posting.
Another listing for a Lead Animator or Animation Director indicates the game will use facial MotionScan technology. The game is also said to be set in Shanghai.
Earlier this word, Team Bondi released information about the game. A press statement said, "From the development team who brought you L.A. Noire and The Getaway, along with the Academy Award winning film production team of Kennedy Miller Mitchell comes a completely new and original IP being developed for next generation games consoles and PC."
Shanghai in the 1930s is describes as "The most corrupt and decadent city on the planet, where anything can be had or done for the right price. Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with the Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labour movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace."
