For PlayStation fans eager to play Sony's crossover brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, word of Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk joining the roster might be today's biggest news. However, read through the comments section of the PS Blog article introducing the two, and extra tidbit can be found.
By now, it's common knowledge that each fighter in the PlayStation All-Stars roster has a rival amongst the cast - a specific opponent with whom animosity is shared for one reason or another. Nathan Drake and Sly Cooper are thieves by nature, Jak and Ratchet are the platforming poster boys of a generation, etc. Thus, if Kat and Emmett were to be seamlessly included in the game's single-player construct, one would expect them to have rivals of their own. When asked if Kat and Emmett would receive their own single-player campaigns, Lead Game Designer Seth Killian replied, "Yes, happy to say both Kat and Emmett have full story modes complete with rivalry cinematically. Are they rivals? Hmmm…". Killian's response indicates that Kat and Emmett are not, in fact, rivals of one another, and that two additional characters will be added alongside Kat and Emmett when the DLC drops early next year.
Which two characters do you hope appear alongside Kat and Emmett? Are you pleased that Gravity Rush and Starhawk will be represented in the game soon? Let us know in the comments, and be sure to check out our input page for PSU's review of PlayStation All-Stars.
