Hitman: Absolution no longer needs online pass

on 19 November 2012

The official Hitman: Absolution Tumblr has confirmed that the stealth-based shooter will no longer require an online pass to access the game’s Contracts mode.

Originally gamers were required to input a single-user Contracts Pass Code that shipped with new copies of the game. However, the system has now been scrapped and players can download the code for free.

“We'd actually planned to have this mode accessible via a code in the game's box," the post reads, "but we really want to make it available to anybody that plays the game – so we want to take a new approach.”

Hitman: Absolution owners in the U.S. can access the mode right from the game’s main menu. For everyone else, you’ll have to download the pass by redeeming the code or grabbing it via PlayStation Network or Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
