Irrational Games’ Ken Levine has confirmed that multiplayer will not be included in BioShock: Infinite.
The comments come following news that the studio was toying with several multiplayer modes earlier in the year. However, in August 2012, Levine revealed that two of these efforts had been given the chop.
Multiplayer was tossed around as the reason for the game’s delay into early 2013, though it now appears it won’t be featured in the final product.
Writing in response to a fan on Twitter, Levine simply said, “No multi.”
In addition to a standard multiplayer, Irrational Games had also been tinkering with a variety of extra game modes, including Spec Ops and a tower defense-style offering set inside an arcade machine.
BioShock: Infinite is due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 on February 26, 2012.
