Dead or Alive 5 Plus to feature Cross-Play, Cross-System Support for DLC

16 January 2013

The PlayStation Vita's next fighting game release, Dead or Alive 5 Plus, will include Cross-Play support. Japanese game magazine Famitsu has confirmed that DOA fans will for the first time in the franchise's history be able to continue the same game from home console to their portable and vice-versa.

DOA5 Plus players will also be able to fight online against PlayStation 3 players on DOA5. An icon will be displayed during online play that will indicate which system a user is playing from.

Additionally exciting is news that all the many DLC costumes from Dead or Alive 5 will be compatible with Dead or Alive 5 Plus. So far, it sounds like Tecmo Koei will have a portable port of a console game done right. If all these features are executed seamlessly, players could see one of the best example of how to do cross-system support.

Dead or Alive Plus will be released March 19 in North America and March 22 in Europe.
